One of my favorite albums of all time, I'd characterize the dynamics of Nico and the VU as a mixture of old fashioned style meeting the avant-garde. The use of a fusty sensibility as a foil to make uncompromising art.

Prine's music will always wash the down off of you and make you feel happier and entertained.

This differs a great deal from the band War On Drugs which has been successful in making Americans merrily bob their heads along to their unassuming blend of droney Psych and Indie Rock for the better part of two decades now.
