Online Vinyl Deals

I went to barnes and noble today and they had a huge section of 50% off albums. A whole row. Lots of good deals.
Can confirm. Mine was pretty picked over and the 50% off was mixed in with everything (kind of annoying) but still came out with a few. Jade Jackson for $9, a replacement Rhiannon Giddens for $9, and the Resistance Radio OST for like $13. Was tempted to grab all of the American Epic pieces too, but decided to be good.

Ooof yeah my store separated the sale items. Probably saved me a good 30-45 min. Found the Love album that was pressed for the Rhino Start Your Ear Off Right 2017 and Replacements - Pleased To Meet Me from the same program.

My B&N is just a hot mess every time I go in there, especially the music section. But to their credit, easily 1/3rd of the stock was stickered clearance (including MOV, some exclusives, a bunch of decent RTI presses, etc.). Probably more when they started, judging from the look of the raided bins.

I'd say about 80% of the albums at mine were on clearance. I'm going to check out a different, probably busier B&N tomorrow and see if they have anything left.

I seriously hate you all (not really). You guys fomo’d me to driving out to the burbs (aka Lakewood) so I could thumb through some VERY picked over LP’s. There were probably a total of 25 titles marked down of which, 90% were Greatest Hits, Soundtracks or an acclaimed older artists most recent release. Needless to say I probably shouldn’t have purchased anything but dammit I drove all the way out there so I felt like I shouldn’t leave empty handed. I went ahead and picked up Ron Wood’s solo debut reissued Friday Music.Friday usually puts out a good product but I have never heard a song off this album ever; basically I purchased based on the fact that it was released in 1974 by a guy who was good enough to be in both The Faces and The Rolling Stones, how bad could it be, right?

Sounds like a classic case of buyer’s remorse. You will be remembered.

Mine was awful too. The guy working there said he thought they were almost all 50% off so I went through their whole stock and pulled out 6 records. Only 1 was on sale...so I only ended up with War On Drugs “A Deeper Understanding” for $11.

That's still a pretty good pull (one of my favorites records of the past decade). They did have a copy of Father John Misty's Pure Comedy, which is great but one that I already owned and Arcade Fire's latest Everything Now which I think I like better than most but still don't know how much I would spin it. So, in all fairness there were a few items that were alright. The good news is after listening to my purchase, I think I made a good decision. I've Got My Own Album To Do is right up my alley and it's sometime fun to go in blind. It reminds me of when I was in Junior High and would go Best Buy and buy a CD complete based off what I had read in Spin Magazine and/or how cool the Album artwork was. Definitely a risky proposition but when it worked out it was magic.
