I grabbed the 2015 reissue by mistake and it sounds pretty great. I also got the 2020 half speed of Some Girls and think it sounds pretty good too.
Yeah, so I had the 2015 Exile and compared it to the 2020 and between the two the mastering and cut were not as big of an issue (though the 2020 was better) the bigger issue was pressing the 2015 was pressed at United and is pocked with imperfections the 2020 reissue were pressed at MPO and it seems like they did an immaculate job. Also, I found a good write up on the differences between the digital sourcing on the 2015 reissues vs. the 2020 remasters...

Yeah, I heard the 2015 were hit or miss but am glad to report mine sounds great (mine said Made in France on the back, not sure if all of them were)

So would these generally be The Rolling Stones albums to pick up then? I have none and don’t know where to start but I need em!
I agree with @Russ I and was just confirming with @Turbo these 2020 are great and especially for the price point. I picked up 4 of them so far (Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St., Emotional Rescue, and Tattoo You) and pre-ordered Goat's Head Soup and am very satisfied with theses remasters. IMO the best Rolling Stone album (and one of the best rock albums ever made) is Exile on Main St. Though, it is a double LP so it is running a bit higher costwise than the other reissues.

Yesterday I did a comparison of this new, half-speed master of Sticky Fingers with a 1971 zipper pressing that's a solid VG+. I'm basing this on only one song, Brown Sugar, but I think that gave me plenty to work with. I was a bit surprised that the half-speed master was the better sounding vinyl. Jagger's voice sounds like it's wrapped in a fog on both records, but this was less so on the half-speed pressing. Beyond that, all of the instrumentation was more crisp and clear on the newer record, and there's a plucked, rather subtle mandolin part in the left channel that was much easier to pick up and follow, which sort of epitomized the difference between the two records, to my ears. Of course I have no idea how the '71 pressing would sound if it were new, and the half-speed pressing pushes at being a bit bright (though not to any degree I minded), that's my assessment. At its current price (under $20 at both Amazon, and uDiscover with the stacked coupon), this seems like a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking to own this Stones title.
If you don't mind, I'd love to know what press your '71 is. Does it have the bold 1841 B'Way address for the bottom text? Do you know what plant it was pressed at? MO, RI, PR, etc? Thanks!

@Ghost

I'm really happy with the 3 I picked-up. I got the late 70's-early 80's trio (Some Girls, Emotional Rescue, Tattoo You) and they sound great for what they are. I already have copies of Exile on Main Street and Sticky Fingers, so I don't think I'll replace those. But I think I may be tempted to get "Undercover" and "It's Only Rock n Roll" (and Goat's Head Soup when it releases).

To me the '94 Virgin Exile CD is where it's at

Really good. The story behind those albums specifically is insane. He joined a cult (the racional), painted his instruments white, only wore white clothes, and would perform songs (the lyrics being extracted straight from their religious texts) in fields at night to attract aliens. Believe it or not, he wasn't even on drugs at this point....

I'm planning on buying some of the others I think since I had some beater copies. I think I was just really underwhelmed by the Sticky Fingers one especially since the other recent half-speed I got sounds awesome (The Specials self-titled). But then I kind of realized that maybe Sticky Fingers simply was not recorded well. Mine sounded pretty bright and just unnatural to me. I didn't have an OG or early press to compare it to though.

Looks like I can get the Abbey Road half-speed masters of Sticky Fingers + Some Girls + Exile on Main Street for $59.38 plus tax on udiscover with the stacking code ("COMEBACK").

Thanks everyone for sharing your feedback on these!
Thanks for the tip! I currently have Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet (both clear vinyl reissues from 2013), Sticky Fingers (the 2015 reissue), the RSD Their Satanic Majasties Request, and Aftermath (the 2019 violet reissue). I never picked up Exile On Main Street because of the spotty reviews, and have been hedging on the half speed remasters. Using the current 25% price reduction, the 20% coupon, and free shipping, I snagged it for $23.40.

I was impressed with the Exile reissue. Not as good as my '72 artisan pressing, but pretty darn close for digital, and without the static and pops of the old used vinyl. Took me several tries to get flat, non-warped version from amazon though. Quite a headache in that regards, especially since it's a double LP, though disc 2 was always warped.

Sticky Fingers I was disappointed with, not nearly as punchy drums as my old zipper copy from the early '70s. Kinda flat sound, but not bad. Not as good as the Exile reissue though.
