Thanks! Bought Gary Reverend Davis and Al Green records + Tito Rodriguez's Three Loves Have I at 10,70€.

Unfamiliar with all of these, if you were to recommend one what would you say @Mr Moore
Spirit Speaks is excellent spiritual jazz, quite operatic vocals at times though so not everybody's bag but a lovely Strata East reissue.

And I haven't heard this Gary Davis one but if you're looking to fill out a blues collection you could do much worse, the albums of his that I have are excellent.

Spirit Speaks is one of my favorite Strata-East reissue but as @Mr Moore said, it's not everybody's bag.

Just to double up on @Mr Moore and @Skalap replies, Spirit Speaks is a great record. I picked up the Superfly reissue as we’ll and it’s fantastic. As they both say though, there are some operatic parts mixed with jazz which isht really like anything I have heard before, although it isn’t heavy enough to dominate the whole record from what I remember.

Ah, sorry guys couldn't get past the second track :( I think the vocals are too much for me.

To the moon, Alice. For £12.5. I think this is a standard press but don't recall any major issues with it.

And some Live Marc Ribot for under a tenner.

Picked up that’s Marc Ribot so thanks for that @Mr Moore. Ive never listened to his solo work but I know he worked a lot with Tom Waits so worth the gamble for that alone.

Edit: I also put an order in for a couple of Horace Tapscott records this morning as well, so my wallets screaming at me to stop.

Cheapy from Now Again on Amazon UK, you might recognize this fella - £12

Picked up this as well. I know the Oriental Jazz had mixed reviews but I’m firmly in the ‘its a great album’ camp so looking forward to getting this one. At such a great price as well!!

Edit: out of interest, do you have this release @Mr Moore? I’m just wondering if the source material is better than that for the Oriental Jazz reissue?

Superdeluxeedition look to have landed a bunch of the 3LP Half Speed Remastered Who - Live at Leeds for £22, not sure what shipping is like. Nice package though, myself, @Yer Ol' Uncle D and a few others picked it up on an accideal on release and it’s quite tasty.

Since people are talking about the voice of one generation, here’s a deal for the voice of another generation:

$12 when added to cart.
what is this? huh this is whack i can't jiggy with this sh*t! :ROFLMAO:

Good thing shipping is just as much as the album..........sigh of relief, lol

Glad you posted these when you did. The Marc Ribot has now gone up to £28 and the Lloyd Miller is now £40!! Well excited for these to arrive!

I'd vote for the Al Green and Rev Gary Davis; followed by Wilson Pickett. I don't know Spirit Speaks well enough to comment.

Al Green: Pressings are vastly superior to Fat Possum. Great sound and a classic record
Rev Gary Davis: His voice is a unique and powerful instrument, bringing together elements from Roma Wilson; Josh White; Leadbelly in a classic tradition...and this recording is amazing. The sense of space and resonance is the sort of thing that when you drop the needle, it can make you sit down
Pickett: Who don't love... it brings me joy, though I don't listen to it as much currently that likely has more to do with my rotation than anything else

Talk me out of the Dylan box set pleeaassse somebody. The thing is I played Blonde on Blonde to death in my twenties and don’t know if I can listen to it anymore. Is the mono version worth it? I have a used, crackly JWH which I have played once and was kind of meh about. TTAAC have heard a few times so....hmmm, decisions, decisions.

Funny, I came here to be talked into it. I know I have a huge hole in my collection - I only have Nashville Skyline and New Morning.
