Wasn't there some chatter about this being limited and nobody knew or something?I think the hubbub is about the super deluxe.

The dude that owns In The Groove Records went on his YouTube channel (which is apparently popular in the vinyl community) and whined about the release. Apparently he ordered 500 copies and only got 10 copies so he started speculating that maybe it was limited or something. It actually looks more like something strange happened with the distribution in the US and a lot of indie record store in the US got shorted copies, while the Amazon, Target, and all of European retailers received plenty of copies.Wasn't there some chatter about this being limited and nobody knew or something?
I have the regular version coming, won’t be able to compare to the Pallas but will be sure to let y’all know what I think. The dude that owns In The Groove Records went on his YouTube channel (which is apparently popular in the vinyl community) and whined about the release. Probably because he was grumpy about being shorted he also decided to give the reissue a poor review, stating he thought it sounded muddled and from a digital source. Next it seemed like the dudes acolytes then went on Discogs and started echoing his poor reviews in the comments section which understandably bummed out people who preordered the reissue but hadn’t even received their copies yet.
Turns out once folks actually started receiving their copies and listened if you them, that maybe it actually wasn’t a terrible pressing after all. The Jacket and 7” are both upgrades and while the reissue might be slightly less dynamic than the BG Pallas pressing from a while back. It’s still sounds pretty darn good to many who have reviewed by actually listening to it instead of just parroting other peoples reviews.
They were not apparently. I think somebody associated with Nirvana said the masters are safe! Also weren’t Nirvana’s masters in the fire?
Apparently it is OOP already. From what I’ve heard from other record store owners, Amazon/uDiscover/Sound of Vinyl apparently oversold their allotments in presale and instead of making them cancel the oversold items, universal just gave them more copies. Then they shorted smaller shops on their allotments.Wasn't there some chatter about this being limited and nobody knew or something?

I went ahead and purchased a copy. I have the BG Pallas and am gonna A/B them once it arrives. I will likely keep both copies and just store whichever copy sounds best in the 30th anniversary sleeve.Apparently it is OOP already. The Mikefromtheingroovephoenixarizona stuff is weird…as @TenderLovingKiller® said, he tried to order 500 copies and was only allocated 10. Then he bashed the release and said it wasn’t listenable and people who hadn’t even gotten copies wrote negative reviews on discogs. Seems like a personal vendetta. I ordered mine on Thursday and was shipped it on Friday (although it says delivered and there’s definitely no package at my house).
Not sure if the super deluxe got delayed or not.

Yeah, I’ve seen that suggested too. I have no idea if it’s AAA or not. All I know is it sounds good to my ears and, assuming if I get a copy free of GZ pressing defects; I imagine this RKS cut will sound pretty nice also. Many seem to see digital and immediately assume it will sound bad which isn’t always the case.i don't think most people realize that the more recent repressings, while also cut by BG, are likely digital too.
this is what i got (from target as well actually) and don't really feel the need to get another copy of an album i've bought at least twice in most formats available. I have yet to make a minidisc copy for when I have to go sit in loud server rooms but I suppose the day is coming. My sealed Pallas was on the clearance rack at Target!

Why do you have a photo of @Sonicpharmacist on your wall, that's creepy AFSo I did some A / B'ing this morning and I still stand by what I said yesterday. The 30th anniversary is not a bad master or press...period. I feel its a little quieter and has a bit more punch on the low end. BG cut sounds more open and I slightly prefer it, but would have zero issue with either as my only copy.
I had to go into the dead wax to see which BG version I had. I had no idea there were so many variants. Apparently I have 2013 Pallas pressing of Nevermind. Had to go into the dead wax and the barcode is at the bottom instead of the top right corner on the 2017 version.

I think one was acquired from another. But both are owned by Universal. Does seem silly to have two separate companies…With all the uDiscover and Sound of Vinyl discount chatter can someone please explain their business model?
It's the same company, correct (UMe)? But they have different inventory and different exclusives (with a fair amount of overlap).
Were these separate online stores and one bought the other? I just don't get it. Why not merge the two into a single (US/UK) entity? Or are they making more money off us rubes by offering the same discounts with slight variations on different inventories?
I buy from both, but it sure would be easier to manage one account.
