Online Vinyl Deals

One thing i've found very accurate on Target's website is copying the UPC 888751842519 into Discogs and it's been the correct version anytime i've ordered things. If it's a pre-order just google search the upc and it's usually always up at other sites with some more info as well. That Pink Floyd is def. just the standard though like others have said.

Another tip is if there's an album you really want that's not rare or OOP it might be worth doing a google search with the UPC and add Target (888751842519 target) it will still bring it up if it's out of stock and you click the "Notify me when it comes back in stock" button. I've seen things come back during the sale in the past.

The higher priced stuff this go around is extremely underwhelming for me but there are tons of things 20-35 I want so I think that's going to be my sweet spot this time.

Here's a few great releases imo that might be a bit under the radar for some and I doubt will get any cheaper then you can get them in this sale.

Grayson Capps - South Front Street
Les Claypool's Duo De Twang - Four Foot Shack (Gold Nugget 2 LP) << There's a chance it might not be included since it's a pre-order but I have a feeling it will be.
Hydeout Productions - First Collection (2LP Japanese Release)

And one last thing! Early this month if you're a Target Circle member they had the offer again where if you have two purchases over a certain amount you'll get Credit back. Mine were two $80 purchases which I wont be hitting this time around but it's usually different for other people so that might be worth activating before the sale starts.
Thanks for the heads-up about the Target Circle rewards. Just activated mine: two purchases of $70 or more earns me $15. I think that's going to be easy this go-around. And like others, most of what I'm looking at is between $16-25, and there's a ton in that price range.

Anyone have the super deluxe Chris Cornell box and have an opinion of it? With the upcoming Target sale it would drop to about $140ish which is pretty tempting.

I have it. I like it. I don't play it as much as I should, I also have the 2lp. The 2lp is nice, but there's so much more on the box set. For that price, I would consider it a must buy.

Now the next question is whether we can still cancel 1-2 items after placing the order and still retain the discount (which would bring that Bowie box to around $240ish…).

I've devoted much too much time to perusing Target's vinyl offerings, which seem almost endless, with each unique search bringing up stuff that hadn't shown up before. Anyway, this is the (at the moment!) "master list" I'll be working from. Clearly I'll have some decisions to make since I think I'm still capable of reigning myself in when necessary. :p Figured I'd post this since it's such a pain in the ass to see what's available, maybe there'll be something of interest to others.

If this helps you out, the War On Drugs doesn't sound great on vinyl like pretty much everything on Dead Oceans/ Jagjaguar from that era, and the new Dino Jr has a very weird mastering that makes it sound bad on vinyl but the digital sounds the same

Do we think Acoustic Sounds will do a sale next week? There's a couple releases I'm itching to order, but would like to wait of course if a discount is on the horizon.

These past few holidays they were doing 10 or 15% OFF, excluding MOFI, AP and IMPEX titles, so I expect that. MD was not doing any sales recently if I remember correctly. What about TheInGroove? I want a few Speakers Corner and Pure Pleasure and these are they only place to get them AFAIK.

Looks like three labels are under the same group. Not sure if that means they handle their masters/pressings the same way or not. I thought Secretly Canadian stuff was held in higher regard than Dead Oceans/Jagjaguar but could just be dependent on the band.
Yeah, I've had a few pressings from that group that are fine and a few that are terrible. Doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it except that none sound "great."
