I have this one. It sounds good enough to me.I'll report when i get mine. Previous pressings were at Rainbo so that explains a lot- this one was pressed this year and Rainbo is RIP so at least that is sorted out
The Prince is a steal, it was a steal at the $41 I paid. Well pressed and a beautiful package.View attachment 149012

I constrained myself to just this one somehowNewbury Comics is having a 25% off sale starting at midnight EST tonight. Looking though their exclusives, this one is still available, it’s a great reissue, and as far as I know, the only way to get Big Star’s Third on vinyl outside the box set.
Third (Test Pressing Edition) Exclusive LP
A Newbury Comics exclusive color vinyl pressing. Test pressing edition release of Big Star's third album "Third", originally released in 1978.www.newburycomics.com
Address you put in doesn’t match the one on the card usually. This happens to me when I use my ZIP+4 (or vice versa) or if I spell out “Street” as opposed to “ST.” Also could mean the credit card processor is down and can’t verify the address.WTF does this mean?!

Are you familiar with the Fabulous Flippers? They were the go to band in Lawrence in the late 60s and early 70s. Then there was the Blue Riddim Band in the late 70s and 80s.
I did not know about these bands actually. Thanks! Are you familiar with the Fabulous Flippers? They were the go to band in Lawrence in the late 60s and early 70s. Then there was the Blue Riddim Band in the late 70s and 80s.
The best band to come out of Lawrence is the Appleseed Cast. I will die on this hill.I did not know about these bands actually. Thanks!
I went to KU in the early aughts, so a lot of exposure to them midwest bands.
Yes, this is truth. I'll defend this hill with you.The best band to come out of Lawrence is the Appleseed Cast. I will die on this hill.

One of those early Midwestern emo bands (before that genre became all commercialized and became a Hot Topic meme) that slowly evolved into a more experiential indie band. I don't know how to classify their sound, but it has heavy influences from early emo (e.g., Sunny Day Real Estate), shoe-gaze (i.e., whole wall of guitar sounds, buried lyrics, etc.), and then post-rock with the build-ups/crescendos. When I was seeing them in Madison, WI in the early 2000's their album Low Level Owl Vol 1 and 2 just came out, and it was experimental and a breath of fresh air. Think Pitchfork gave it a 9.0 (if that matters). Their drummer at the time had an intriguing off-kilter approach (you can hear it in Steps and Numbers below). Their sound now is much more polished, and I especially enjoy their instrumental "post-rock" songs. It was the layered guitars and drumming that drew me in.Who the hell is Appleseed Cast????
