Palin was more an ignorant “Karen” before Karen’s were “Karen’s”. A proto-Karen if you will.

They are both assholes. His assholeiness works better on a message board than in real life. I hated Palin but I know people did like her. I don’t think anyone likes JD. Even people who agree with him kinda think he’s a dick.

I mean, that's not really true though. In both elections he's been a part of, more people voted for the other candidate.

It's important I think to remember that the smart people do outnumber the idiots. It's vitally important to remember that. Because the idiots are really counting on you thinking otherwise.
 
About that, I found this very interesting and I think it gets to something that I’ve been trying to say at various points in this discussion. We’ve got to figure out a way to get folks to understand that politics affects them and matters. I’ve also realized that it’s about engagement in the process. But here you go, some food for thought:

The Electoral College is a flawed system. You can look up the origins, but at its core it was a compromise made to value property more than people. Not changing it when slavery ended has now created a situation of minority rule. It's completely 'un-American'. In no other part of American life does the person with fewer point (votes) win anything.

Much of this madness could be blunted with some reforms. Eliminating the Electoral College would be a great one.
Forcing parties to compete on the number of votes they get in total would force moderation and result in both parties needing to cater to the needs of all Americans and not just certain demographics in particular states in order to win elections.
