Political Discussion

Just from a purely political perspective how does something like that help a candidate get elected? Women make up half the population and can still vote. These aren’t serious people. They would rather troll then win an election.
I'll tell you why, he doesn't care if she wins, they're already planning on muddying up the process and this is gonna be another shit show of contested votes, ballot recounts and electoral shenanigans with the goal being that all this ends up in the Supreme Court............and we all know what happens then.

I keep hearing that there are plans to counter all this crap in place, I fuckin' hope so.

Basically it was Trump on half saying they came after me to get to you and the other, Harris on her knees with her mouth open and tongue out with a caption that said Kamala can’t talk right now, she’s at a baby shower.

Jesus, the real thing is even more crass than the description can really do justice...

I personally have both in my family. Much like your father who has delusions of MAGA dancing in his head, I have a few family members in Alabama and Northwest Florida that have been pumping out Facebook bs since 2021. The hurricanes that rocked us here in FL back 2 back were man made to swing FL blue because according to them, the red vote in Florida, a battleground state, would be wiped out by the man made storms

I have a FAR FAR left relative, who worked for the Obama campaign, was apart of the Northam controversy in Virginia as she was working in his office, and even had a governor or senator make improper passes which drove her away from politics at the tail end of 2019 to teach Yoga classes.... (in hindsight it was a good time to take a break). She is on IG now as the election comes closer bashing her mother, father, and others who she believes are voting for Trump. She says things like "My mother has made a devastating political decision with her vote, she is voting for a man that wants to kill me, her daughter" She says this as a white 34 year old former politician who lives on Miami beach and teaches Yoga.

I see both sides and to be honest I only explained this to give a personal bit on why I said what I said about side vs. side. I can see it here too even tho majority here is left leaning, when someone speaks against the norm here they get a gang of users to shoot down their thoughts. However, quite frankly your post is only adding to what I was saying about people pointing fingers while we head to a boiling point i.e. the last line of your post.

Except the furthest left politicians go in this country are AOC and Bernie... who would be centrist in Western Europe and Latin America. People might be polarized but that's not the same thing as there being an extreme left. Especially among elected officials.

And no, your relative who worked for Obama is not FAR, FAR left unless she is literally a communist at this point. And I don't mean that in the way Republicans use the word. I mean the actual, textbook ideolgy that is considered the definition of far left by political scientists.

You'd probably call me far left and I just want anti-trust busting, heavy regulations on corporations, manufacturing moved home, investment in housing, ext. My most extreme view is that billionaires should be taxed on all income above 1 billion annually and that it should be used to fund medicare for all. Other than that, I'm basically an FDR Democrat.

Where as the Trump led GOP very much is fascist and a good chunk of Republican voters are fascist adjacent. Not the same thing.

One of the ballot questions in Massachusetts was whether or not the MCAS Test should be a requirement for graduation. It has been for nearly 30 years now.

I voted no, the MCAS should not be a requirement of graduation. I was never good at standardized tests. I could learn all the material and get A's in my classes, but take a standardized test like MCAS or the SATs and I came in around the 17th percentile. Just barely passing. Time management and stressing myself out was my issue.

This question is on the ballot, because the MCAS requirement is preventing people who are bad at standardized tests or who have disabilities from being able to graduate.

The majority of political ads about this question tell you to vote to keep the requirement in place. That removing this requirement would lower the quality of education in Massachusetts if schools were able to decide whether or not someone has sufficiently learned the materials required for graduation. The MCAS ensures that everyone meets the states standard of education. These commercials have clips of baggers in grocery stories with Down Syndrome telling you to vote to keep the MCAS requirement, because they have their job due to the education provided to them.

someone might have found out they're going to lose PA 👋

An another note, this reminds me about an article I read this morning betting on the election is legal and the federal government approved it for at least one gambling site. More than $100 million dollars have been bet. Most people are betting on Trump winning, so the spread is looking better if you bet for Harris.

With that said, who bets on elections!? What kind of country do we live in?

A land of degenerate gamblers.

Man this sounds nuts:

Also, it doesn't sound like fraud in the sense what fraud actually is. Nothing sounds like anything nefarious was going on here. Just that a large canvasing operation to get people to register to vote may have had some duplicate applications filled out or addresses are unverifiable or can't the hand writing can't be read.

Nothing that suggest that fraud is being committed, especially when it come to votes or mail in ballots being filled out.

Also, it's a couple hundred at most, not thousands like Trump stated.

Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, in a statement on Harris' speech, accused the vice president of "lying, name-calling, and clinging to the past" to hide the failures of the Biden-Harris administration.

Okay, so what about your boss?

Biden called Trump supporters garbage and now the White House is in spin mode, but they shouldn't be because his supporters are garbage. No lie detected.
He didn’t though. That mush-mouthed geriatric was calling the speakers at Trumps racist rally garbage. It’s pretty clear within the context of what he was saying he also immediately put out a statement clarifying what he had attempted to say immediately after. But MAGA are gonna pretend to be offended in hopes of rallying the troops. Problem is every time the topic comes up it’s usually followed by A) a clip of Trump calling America a “Garbage Can” and about America’s biggest threat being “The Enemy from Within” and B) he is not running against Joe Biden and their are plenty of clips showing Harris saying she will govern for all Americans.

It’s not quite Hillary Clinton calling Trump Supports “Deplorables” at a secretly recorded private fundraiser.
