Joe Biden would've lost by an even larger margin. The internals for him supposedly had Trump winning 400 electoral votes. But honestly, would it matter when people basically voted angry about the cost of things? It's pretty obvious very few people actually looked at Trump's positions before voting for him.

Given the weaponization of the Justice Department we're about to witness in the next 4 years, it might be good for Biden to blanket pardon everyone in his administration, the previous Trump administration, and anyone who investigated or prosecuted past crimes of Trump.

I think it was more to shield his son from future prosecutions from the Trump Justice Department. Though now it opens Hunter up to being called before Congress to testify and he can't hide behind the 5th Amendment now. If people didn't care about the rule of law and ethics leading up to a convicted felon who tried to overthrown the peaceful transition of power getting elected to a 2nd term, why would they start caring because Biden broke a campaign promise? If anything, this might just sever the Obama/Biden/Clinton wing and allows a fresh Democratic Party to be formed.
