So, what exactly is going on here?

How can Trump do anything before he even is in office? He's not until tomorrow.

I have heard something about the only thing Trump legally could do within his power if he was president was delay the law by 90 days for further evaluation. However, since he is not president yet, and the ban went into effect there is no legal standing for him to be able to enact that delay. Thus doing so would result in a lengthy court battle and back to the SCOTUS. Additionally, no company is going to take a chance on the fines, so the App would remained banned from the app stores in the mean time.

With that point again. If Trump decide to not enforce the law at all, another option, it's not likely the app would return to app stores due to the fines. No company is going to take a chance on them. Because ignoring the law would be over stepping his authority and the SCUTUS could get involved in say that he doesn't have the power to do that. They said that to Biden many times for far lessor reasons.
 
Trump apparently posted this on his Truth Social media this afternoon:

I’m asking companies not to let TikTok stay dark! I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security. The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order.

Americans deserve to see our exciting Inauguration on Monday, as well as other events and conversations.

I would like the United States to have a 50% ownership position in a joint venture. By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands and allow it to say up. Without U.S. approval, there is no Tik Tok. With our approval, it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars - maybe trillions.

Therefore, my initial thought is a joint venture between the current owners and/or new owners whereby the U.S. gets a 50% ownership in a joint venture set up between the U.S. and whichever purchase we so choose.

It’s not. It’s a pump and dump meme coin. The value will go sky high and then he will sell off a bunch and the value will nosedive. Like most of this stuff he will make some money off of it but definitely no where close to the numbers the media is reporting which is based on current value. The media either doesn’t understand the grift or is purposely reporting the current value in a click bait shock value sort of way.

Trump has a certain amount of crypto he is releasing intermittently so people that buy it now will sell it for a profit and the price will continue to rise which will cause the other coins he hasn’t yet sold to skyrocket but it’s an issue of supply and demand as he releases more (at the higher price) eventually the market will will saturate and people will start selling them for less than the top value until the value craters but by that point Trump will likely have sold off his portion for a tidy profit.

In records parlance let’s say The Wu-Tang created a Million copies of a record but will only release 10 copies for the first 6 months. Wu fans get antsy and start buying them for $100 instead of $25. So the Wu Drop 100 more copies but is now selling them for $75 a piece but now more time has passed and they are now going for $150 a record. So then the Wu sell all the remaining copies for $100 and people buy them initially thinking that it will be an investment but since the market is now flooded people are not making money and instead have to sell them at a loss eventually they have no value at all and whoever ends up with them at that point is just kinda fucked. But the Wu Tang moved enough fast enough that they made a tidy profit at the expense of their overzealous fans.

Of course The Wu Tang would never do that because they are not assholes but Donald and Miliania are giant assholes and will add some new solid gold fixtures to their guest bathrooms in Mar A Lago ofc the back of their dumbass cult.
