Political Discussion

Interested to see what comes of the Russian protests for Navalny. Impressive to see people protesting when it is under -50F.
Also, they appear to be nationwide. Often protest only happen in Moscow (when they happen at all) they had people protesting is Pacific port towns 7 time zones away and in Siberia. I hope Biden puts out a statement of support for the protests.

it did not update further than this. My stim was underwhelming and I think they possibly made a mistake.
Thanks for letting me know!

If you can verify that the amount you got was too small, you may be able to claim the rest on your taxes. It looks like if I don't get it by the time I file, that is the way for me to get it.

Here is an article about how towns that have risen out of the fossil fuel industry are being left behind and their people without jobs. It brings up a good point, does the United States owe it to them to help them transition? The government funded building the towns, which will likely end up as ghost towns as people abandon them due to the lack of jobs.

All proceeds go tho charity, ( and they call the design chairman sanders lol
@RenegadeMonster : next fathers day gift?

Actually, I think I know someone who could make me one. A coworker of mine's wife makes all kinds of arts and crafts she sells on Etsy. She's really talented. I bet she could totally make one. Just might take awhile to get a she has so many orders for stuff she sells on Esty to make.

There's a pattern on Etsy:

I don't have any knitting supplies, yarn or any idea what I'm doing. So odds are having someone else make it for me is both the cheaper and best option

Hey you go, you can buy the original. :ROFLMAO:

It says it is crochet, if that's what your grandma meant by being a hooker. I'm not sure though I can't tell how it was made exactly.

I believe America does have an obligation to help these people. Not so much the towns. Imagine being a multi generational family in one of these places, buying your home, investing your entire life into an area, learning your trade and then everything falls apart. The industry gets replaced, you get replaced, now you own a worthless piece of land in a worthless town with no jobs. Relocation is a rough transition for people like this, but it's necessary and the government (as a representation of fellow countrymen) need to help them.

In Newfoundland where I grew up there are many "ghost towns" which used to be quaint little fishing villages dotting the coasts. When fishing dried up, or the new sanctions and rules made it too hard for these villages to survive, they had to relocate the people who lived in these villages. It wasn't perfect, and most people weren't happy to leave the homesteads they had built for themselves, but it's that or let old stubborn people die alone and hungry.
