I called my Local Record Shops and Newbury Comics.
Newbury Comics did not get this release in whatsoever chain wide.
When I talked to my Local Shop in Salem I was able to speak with the owner. He said he had ordered 5 copies and got zero copies in. He says situations like this are only becoming more frequent. When record stores order copies, they are not told what the distributors allocation is. They are just told the allocation the disturber allows them to order. What is happening with these limited releases is the distributors are over selling their allocation. And it screws over the stores who are expecting sales on these releases as well as the consumers. He also told me what he heard form his Distributor is this title is gone. Sold out and any orders not already fulfilled will not be. They expect it to be reissued on standard black vinyl next year.
This all has me wondering, where are these orders being fulfilled. And how a store as large as Bull Moose or Newbury Comics could end up not even getting a single copy in.
