Luna lists out of stock but I am really interested in where this all went too. It was on her webstore for a bit, on Target for a while, and then was really challenging to find anywhere. I think Discogs may be inflated a bit right now as those "whoops" messages come in but it's truly odd given that Brandi is a pretty known commodity. Especially following the weird delays surrounding her RSD release.

Luna is showing that my copy shipped. I wonder if I got their last copy. The website didn't update right away to say it was sold out. They must have updated the inventory when they pulled mine to ship.

Damn, I was looking at Luna last night but it had a pre-order date too so I figured same situation as others and didn't pull the trigger.

About half the price of ordering on Discogs right now.

I called my Local Record Shops and Newbury Comics.

Newbury Comics did not get this release in whatsoever chain wide.

When I talked to my Local Shop in Salem I was able to speak with the owner. He said he had ordered 5 copies and got zero copies in. He says situations like this are only becoming more frequent. When record stores order copies, they are not told what the distributors allocation is. They are just told the allocation the disturber allows them to order. What is happening with these limited releases is the distributors are over selling their allocation. And it screws over the stores who are expecting sales on these releases as well as the consumers. He also told me what he heard form his Distributor is this title is gone. Sold out and any orders not already fulfilled will not be. They expect it to be reissued on standard black vinyl next year.

This all has me wondering, where are these orders being fulfilled. And how a store as large as Bull Moose or Newbury Comics could end up not even getting a single copy in.

This is why I’m kind of done variant chasing period. Everything gets a repress eventually and it’s not worth my effort anymore. I’m not in this for fancy colored vinyl that’s worth a bunch later. I want the music. If I miss out, it’s not like I don’t have close to 2000 other records I can spin. Between YouTube, Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, and both my cd and record collection, I can listen to just about anything I want to. Sure the fidelity may be different but meh.

For sure, that's a good philosophy and I honestly don't care if I get the white or black. I'm more paranoid after I slept on buying a copy of 'The Story' last december and now I can't find it anywhere for a reasonable price. I know this album is a different label so that won't be an issue.

But you're absolutely right, it's not like I don't have *almost* the entire rest of her discography to listen to on wax. Not have Firewatchers won't kill me (I should adapt this philosophy more often)

I do get it with Brandi though, it seems like her stuff can get repressed but it disappears without notice. Like Live at Benaroya and Bear Creek were pretty available recently and are getting scarcer. I do agree in general though on colored vinyl vs. readily available standard pressings.

Its one of the songs my wife plays on guitar. I know her version a lot better than the Ritter version.

And sometimes I walk around the house trying to sing it but I don't know the words so I end up singing, "CAUSE IM A MUMMY! AND YOURE A LADY!"
