There was a slight bump in interest in MBV when the movie Lost In Translation came out, but that was yeaaarrrrs agoRight? MBV is one of those bands that, but for the internet. I would not know even exists. Have never encountered their music, or anyone referencing their music, in the wild, although maybe that says more about the company I keep than it does about the music.

From my perspective you are super fortunate if a significant amount of your musical discovery is offline. I don't think more than 5% of mine has been since college as most of my family and friends are not interested in searching out new music. Several are really open to new stuff I send them but that's about it other than pop or radio stuff forced upon them.Right? MBV is one of those bands that, but for the internet. ...does that say Rachel Bloom singing Stacy's Mom?
Edit: Full songs on Bandcamp for a digital donation if you're so inclined too.
not gonna lie, have only ever listened to MBV in passing. Found it really pretty and enjoyable, but it hasn’t clicked to me yet why people are FANATICAL over this band

Gotta jump on this one. I don't usually go for compilations but I had a high school teacher share this with me ~18 years ago. There are some great demos and rarities on here; Johnny is a standout for me.
