Exactly. I wonder what the holdup is? I thought the Tuff Gong plant was all up and running and I’m assuming all the mastering is done and they’re ready to get pressed. COVID doesn’t help but these were up for pre-order last fall if I remember right.December 31? They have no idea when it will be released.
It's a really great tracklist. Are these NOW comps generally released in the US, too? I picked up a NOW 80's comp second hand a couple years ago for perhaps $2, but cannot recall ever seeing one new in a store here recently. Last time I saw one was at Virgin Records in Union Square, NYC sometime around 2002ish.Tracklist is amazing, but I hate comps.
JFC, just realized how many pre-orders I've got/had with Hello Merch after a bad experience with them. Opened a 2lp set to find two copies of LP1. They sent a snippy reply: "I'm sorry, but we do not do exchanges/returns with any media forms.. vinyl, CDs, tapes."
I like to support bands directly, but if they're using Hello Merch, I guess I use Amazon or Target going forward.
Looking at the age of the presses on a Billboard video tour of the re-opened plant last summer, I wouldn't be surprised to hear the term "technical difficulties". I imagine getting replacement parts and technician help for those old presses could be tough.December 31? They have no idea when it will be released.

Agreed. I bought DJ Shadow's last release at my local and it had two of the same LPs. I brought it back and exchanged it for another - we opened it there and it was the same issue. My store owner refunded me and told me to just keep it as they couldn't get any money back from the distributor anyway. Resorted to twitter and was contacted directly by band management who were horrified that we'd received two copies like that. They ended up sending us the correct LPs, a cd copy, a t-shirt for my husband and some other merch like stickers etc. We were also told that we would be put on the list for the show of our choice next tour (then Covid hit )Contact the band directly and tell them how Hello Merch is treating their fans.
When a biz sells a new product to a consumer, they have legal obligations that are not replaced by their stated return policies.JFC, just realized how many pre-orders I've got/had with Hello Merch after a bad experience with them. New black midi album announced, Cavalcade.
There is a pic disc that appears to be sold out UK but not US. Also a limited Rough Trade Variant with a flexi disc of a cover song that will be picked by vote, yet to be chosen.
Eclectic mix of choices for the cover:
Public Image Ltd – Death Disco
Devo - Uncontrollable Urge
Chicago - 25 of 6 to 4
Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue
JME – Man Don’t Care
Captain Beefheart - Moonlight On Vermont
Guns & Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
Elton John - Philadelphia freedom
Todd Rundgren - Zen Archer
Ozzy Osborne - Crazy Train
Happy Mondays - “Step On”
Emmylou is an all time favorite song of mine...love the colors but don't think I can justify that price to double dip on it.View attachment 100567
