Pre-Order Thread

I'm eyeing this but would like to hear more than that one track to commit. Love James Brandon Lewis though...

I know nothing about it besides the sample track. Sounds good. Bandcamp says 1500 total. Juno sold about half their stock. They are down to 11 left in stock at the moment. In a couple weeks I should know more. :-)

James Brandon Lewis is one of my favourite jazz musicians. His new album, Jesup Wagon, is really great. I'm actually spinning as I type a fresh grab of "No Filter" by his trio and it is mind-blowingly good...

Ordered, I’ll give Jesup Wagon a try also. Falling ever deeper into the rabbit hole.

These RSD Essential pressings are popping up for preorder at a couple places. Here is the Zia link so you can see them all. Some aren't out for a long time, and from what I understand they will be made available to indie stores, so you should be able to find them around. They include Weyes Blood, Isbell, Madlib, Paak, Alabama Shakes, Nina Simone and Guaraldi records at the moment.

I mean, you're not entirely wrong, but Esfandiari was on the bleeding edge of the 2010s shoegaze revival as part of the Bay Area scene long before Nothing emerged from the ashes of Whirr and pushed hard into the mainstream. She's earned the bonafides, def not a bandwagoner
Esfandiari is a damn good poker player too.

The Weyes Blood is interesting. I may sell my VMP one and grab the crazy color one.

In for the Isbell for sure. First color pressing of that record.

New Nation of Language album coming in November, and a fantastic new single "Across That Fine Line" out today. Not sure how limited, or if limited, but there is a coke bottle clear through their site, in addition to black vinyl.

Seeing as their 2020 album "Introduction, Presence" was one of my favorites of 2020, I'm psyched for this!

I hear you, but these kind of 5-month-out announcements almost feel par of the course these days. I bet they will release like half the album in advance as singles. Gotta give them credit though in terms of turn around, from 1st album in early 2020 to second in late 2021, they were clearly productive during the pandemic.
Yeah, I'm fine with the leeway but November is basically the end of the year for albums. I worry it'll end up being an afterthought amongst everything else that will be released. Their music does fit that Autumn weather well. A late September/early October release would have been perfect. Also that new single is incredible.

I think any album advertised as a pre-order from July forwards, we won't receive until 2022 given the delay at pressing plants and with shipping (unless said LP was already pressed in the past and is currently sitting in a warehouse). Henry Rollins was commenting on this recently as some 7" projects he did with In The Red in 2020 are only appearing this month or next due to supply chain delays.
