Pre-Order Thread

This is what bandcamp has to say about it: "A collection of 9 demos written and recorded by Andy Shauf between March and May of 2018."

EDIT: Shit, an email with a link to this release on Bandcamp led to the discovery he's playing at a local venue tomorrow night! Proof of vaccination and masks required. Might be dropping some $$ on this.

A friend of mine I haven't seen in a decade due to geographic circumstance was playing guitar with Shauf pre-pandemic, and may still be. In addition to wanting to see Andy live, I've been hoping to catch a show so I can reconnect with Chris but the closest they've come so far is a ferry ride/overnight trip away, which makes even cheap shows a scarcely affordable scheduling nightmare.

All of which is to say I'm a wee bit jealous and I hope you have a blast!

Thank you! Tickets in hand (well, digitally that is). This is a great place for a show because it's basically just an open indoor space with a bar in one corner and the stage in the center of one of the long sides of the space. I don't imagine they could legally fit more than a couple hundred people in the space, and you can literally be inches from the stage. Here's a crappy photo of the setup for a Jade Bird show back in October of 2019 to give an idea of the 'initmacy' of the space.

Enjoy! Andy is on his way to the Pacific NW, but skipping Portland and playing Eugene instead. I'll have to pass this time around, but have seen him 4-5 times and he is always great.

This is really, really fun. I might have to grab this one.

This is a big reason why I buy the vast majority in local stores. Well that and wanting to support small local businesses after the shit show that has been the last year.
Also there's something lost when I cant spend an hour or four flipping through the physical media while the employee selection of the hour gets spun over the stores soundsystem.

Clicking through the offerings online is just lacking.

I look forward to resuming that on my lunch hour when I’m back in the office full time. One of the few things I’m looking forward to about having to do that! The last year I’ve been pre ordering online and just popping into the store to pick up and have a quick chat because going all the way into the city was a pain during a pandemic.

Thanks I missed the store exclusive 😁

When I still worked across the street from my local there were days I would browse unnecessarily after I was done doing the browsing I went to do simply to keep listening to what was playing in the store, depending on who was picking the tunes and what mood they were in.
