Pre-Order Thread

My Pixies looks like the mockup, so it's definitely not that all of them look that way. The one complained about looks like they ran out of the other colors while producing the vinyl. I don't necessarily think it merits a replacement or refund, but a good CS would give some consideration like a small credit or discount on your next purchase.

I can't find it right now, but UO kinda confirmed on Twitter that they were doing Blackout.
If it's a limited edition, it's going to be a blood bath.

They changed the mock up, original was white with splatter like on this picture. The picture they have changed it to is pretty disappointing and I wouldnt have bothered with it. There are plenty of pics of really good copies on Twitter, much nicer than the new pic on the website, makes me wonder if they know they have some production issues and are covering

Thanks for the extra info, that makes more sense. Newbury has done this before, the Sonic Youth Goo pressing comes to mind. People were complaining that it was not a swirl pink but instead a solid pink, and they just switched out the stock photo without a hint of an announcement. Sketchy.
 
I have only ordered 1 thing from Newbury and it was the Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork Red pressing. It sounds great until side D which was pressed off center. They wouldn't get me a replacement copy cause they sold out which sucked.

My "pinwheel" Doolittle looks NOTHING like the original mockup and is flat, boring and ugly instead. I never would have ordered it at all if the actual pressing had been shown as the mockup. Beyond that, the sound is flat and uninspiring. I have two or three other pressings, so I've had the chance to compare. What a waste of $30 or whatever.
 
So Urban Outfitters has a really good sale at the moment! I got 33% off all my vinyl as I spent $152 in store. I got $50 off! 😲👌

I’m so happy with all those prices. Like 2LP Velvet Rope and Janet for under $17 is such a great deal and getting $10 for Writing’s on the Wall is an amazing deal as well. Paying only $10 for Vince Staples, Tory Y Moi is so good as well and the free shipping is the cherry on top, especially as I’m in Australia!

That is a great deal. I’ve got 5 of the new JJ REs and they’re good quality. And I have OGs of both you’ve gotten and have no problem spinning the REs instead. You’ll be happy with them.

I received the new Carly Rae Jepsen record damaged. Sent it back got a replacement. This was the box. Inside was the record flopping around. Yep, warped. Getting a refund.

I really hope they package my box really well like Amazon! Amazon is definitely the best company when it comes to vinyl packaging in my opinion!

I really hope Urban Outfitters wait until they get the Janet Jackson records and then ship all my vinyl together, instead of receiving two different packages! 🤞

If my box comes crushed, then my heart is going to get crushed and I don’t want my heart crushed when I’m home in winter because I don’t know winter lol 🥶

I've only ever bought vinyl from UO once. They sent the one record I purchased (I think it was Beyonce's S/T) in one of those plastic bags you'd get a t-shirt in. I kid you not - no extra protection. Just a record "protected" by a garment shipping bag. Of course, I returned it. For a refund - I didn't trust them. Of course, this was a few years back so at least they've upgraded to crushed boxes. I'm not consciously boycotting them - just haven't steered toward them again.

Got a Joji record sent to me in one of those bags, with the record inside the bag placed between two pieces of taped cardboard. Corners were exposed. I was stunned that it wasn't destroyed.

If Urban Outfitters send the records with little protection and they are squashed and then want me to send them back to get a replacement/refund, then it will be the end of me and Urban Outfitters.

But then I probably won’t be able to resist the Britney Spears’ Blackout exclusive 😂🤷‍♂️

I wish Urban Outfitters was in Melbourne, Australia so then I could use the pick-up in store option. Because I’d totally prefer picking up the vinyl in person. If VMP had a store in Melbourne, I’d definitely pick up the vinyl in person too!

Exactly how I feel. sorry to hear that, notice the pinwheel mock has changed as well! I also got a green and bronze swirl which is actually pretty nice, so if anyone else is looking at it that’s the one I’d go for
