Pre-Order Thread

I'd like to thank the N&G Academy...without your eagle-eyes, links, and laughing emojis this would not have been possible.

I'd also like to thank Target and Walmart for renewing the series for another season.

And most importantly, I'd like to thank the Black Pumas for their vision, color scheme, and for not releasing a second album.

Because it’s a sad and sorry tale of a mediocre soul act that seem like nice guys and are kinda fun live using up all their good will in a blaze of colours.
Okay, so I really don't care for Black Pumas' music and was not very interested the one time I tried to listen to the album. But even still, I don't get why the album being repressed causes such vitriol. The vinyl community complains about records not being kept in print all the time, but when an artist is popular enough to have their album readily available, it reflects poorly on the artist. Like yes, there's a lot of Black Pumas variants, but I really don't think they have an abnormal number of records out there in the world for a Grammy-nominated act. I feel like it obviously appears that way because we have a specific thread dedicated to posting new pre-orders, but if I didn't look in here to see that Black Pumas had a new variant out, I wouldn't really think twice about seeing their record on a shelf.

I think it’s more the creation of multiple instances of false scarcity than keeping in print. Plus it’s more an exasperated sigh accompanied by a wearied eye role rather than anything approaching vitriol.
