Yeah that kinda sucks. I have noticed more companies charging VAT at source so in theory the orders shouldn't get held up at customs as you've already paid it.

Yeah I hope that become normal but for now if it doesn’t specifically say it I’ve kinda got to opt out of outside EU unless it’s a must have in the Uk that I’ll send to my dad, can’t be burying him in vinyl either though

It's such a good album. I've really enjoyed it. i have the VMP pressing and it sounds great. I think different versions were pressed at different plants (some seemed to be RTI and others seemed to be Pallas if I recall correctly?) Not sure where this indie variant might be pressed at.

To be totally fair, I’m thinking they made a mistake with the listing and that the $40 is only the original album whereas the $60 includes the second disc. That’s the only thing different between the descriptions. Probably wouldn’t hurt to put in an order on the cheaper one to see if you can get the limited edition version.
