For fans of queen influenced piano pop. Big fan and you probably have seen the guitarist/second singer's art on your social media somewhere.

I played the ever-living shit out of this record when it came out, but I can’t, for the life of me, recall a single song on it.

I’m so bewildered by your take on this - it’s like we’re listening to two different albums, haha. I think of Hot Thoughts as having plenty of badass guitar, but you seem to be hearing something closer to Still Woozy or Clairo, haha.

It’s all through the lens of Spoon as a band. The album still sounds like Spoon just a more dancey version, They have toyed with these elements in the past, I think of “Stay Don’t Go” and “I Turn My Camera On” are good examples. On Hot Thoughts they made a whole album of that style instead of just a track or two.

It's also fucking great.

Oh No doubt. Spoon don’t make bad albums. Just because it’s my least favorite (outside their debut, which I would also argue is better than it gets credit for) doesn’t mean it’s not great.

It's a very interesting Japanese leftfield synthpop release. I've passed on it every time I've seen it at a local but might snag it next time I come across it.

This version is obviously quite different, and I can see how the version we all know is more radio friendly...but this was pretty cool to hear.

I haven't gotten mine yet but I know some people started to! Hoping I still am getting mine...I did get the signed screen print so hoping that doesn't mean my standing order somehow got cancelled.

And I thought the 37 bucks for the peppermint swirl variant was pricey!

How in the world would this album justify a 350 dollar pressing? Makes my recent splurge of 10% of that price look like an absolute deal.

It's not 350 dollars. It's £350 which is nearly $500USD.

I feel that way about all of the ERC pressings to be honest. Even if they are rare or harder to find jazz pressings, I can't say any one album is worth $500.
