Mason Jennings/Real Heart (Blue Vinyl)

Mason Jennings

Real Heart (Blue Vinyl)

Looking for this found me plopping down some money on this:
It's a fun listen for sure - from a period when JP was experimenting with his talents as a DJ - and I appreciate that it's a vinyl-only release. You can hear bits and pieces that later show up fully fledged on The New Breed and Suite for Max Parker.

Etran de L'air - Agadez

Really loved their first release ( No. 1). These guys hail from the mountainous region of Northern Niger, and while genres are inherently imperfect, they have shades of the "desert blues" sound popularized by Mdou Moctar and Bombino. If you enjoy either of those bands, I recommend checking this one out.
Beloved for their dynamic repertoire of hypnotic solos and sun schlazed melodies, Etran stakes out a place for Agadez guitar music. Whereas other Tuareg guitarists look to Western rock, Etran de L’Aïr play in a pan-African style that is emblematic of their hometown, citing a myriad of cultural influences, from Northern Malian blues, Hausa bar bands, to Congolese Soukous.

For anyone interested in the Monster Rally, he will be doing his own variant in his web-store in October. Highly recommend this guy, he’s really good
More of a pre- pre-order announcement, but Monster Rally will be offering up his own variants of the Newbury Comics exclusives on tour, with any leftovers heading to his site/Bandcamp, I assume. Definitely the cooler looking versions, IMO.

But I just want the studio albums…
Definitely would like to see Busted Stuff and Everyday pressed for the first time. Then Before These Crowded Streets needs a RP. And then some of their most iconic live stuff on CD (The Gorge, Central Park, Weekend on the Rocks, Folsom Field, United Center) isn't on vinyl either. Not sure why they prioritize the Live Trax series over everything else.
