Black Pumas doing the soundtrack, or what?

This is a great set, but the Sides F/G/H transitions being split up is tough, as inevitable as it may have been

O
literally just came here to post this! Not sure if I’ll dip in, but it is my favorite GBV era!

Still waiting for someone to explain an NFT to me in a way that doesn't make it sound like a huge waste of money.

It’s not really hard to understand from a collecting and commerce standpoint. I personally find them to be quite pointless and gimmicky but that can be said about a lot of things.

Think of an NFT as a piece of art. If you or me painted a picture it likely would not be worth much of anything but Banksy could make something comparable if not exactly the same and would be deemed value based on the fact that it was piece of art created by a renowned artist. If it were art and you were going to pay a lot of money for it you would want assurances that the piece was legitimate and not a forgery or a copy. An NFT is a way to authenticate a piece of digital art. The verification and authentication process is actually the technical/complicated portion of NFT’s but it is not something really worth trying to understand unless you were looking to “mint” your own NFT (which is essentially how you register your NFT) or were looking to buy or sell them.

Why they understandably get a bad rap currently is because they are new and trendy and people looking to make a quick buck and usually with more money than common sense are screwing others and/or getting screwed out of real money.

NFTs could have some good practical uses (like concert tickets for example). But it has mostly been a get rich quick scheme like you said. It’s insane how much money Beeple has made on it, for example. I think he’s the third richest/most valuable living artist now.

Every time I run across an NFT looking for my money, I always reply, either verbally or to myself inside my head, Not Fucking Today.
