Maybe so. I tend to think female artists have made some great records throughout music when given the opportunity. Usually there are at least a couple guitar based Indie Rock albums with female leads I love every year but for me 2022 is the first time that I recall where the majority of new guitar based indie rock albums that excited me were led by female leads.

The Bobby Lees last few albums have been top notch punk/garage rock. Other indie bands, Snooper, Gel and the CIA, have also had great new music this year. Pound for pound, all of the Amyl and the Sniffers albums have all been excellent.
