Pre-Order Thread

Magnolia with an exclusive variant of the new The National album. Not sure what it's limited to.

Looks to be 2000 since there are 1600 copies left.

Got this in the mail early! I am pleased to report that this is indeed a high quality record. Sounds great. Mastered by Ryan K. Smith , and I think pressed at RTI.

Also technically still a pre-order since it is officially released on the 24th!

Great news! Excited to stream it on Friday and then most likely pick it up at my local.

Bandbox is putting out Luna’s live performance of their album Penthouse

“Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Luna perform live knows how special and spellbinding their performances are. Bandbox couldn’t be more excited to bring one of Luna’s most memorable shows to vinyl for the very first time – a live airing of ‘Penthouse’ in its entirety from The Chapel in San Francisco, part of a three-night run where they played ‘Bewitched’ and ‘Rendezvous’ from start to finish as well.

This celebrated ‘Live Penthouse’ performance, recorded on January 20, 2017, has been available digitally since 2022, but now it will finally be available for fans to enjoy on glorious seafoam swirl vinyl, complete with brand new album art inspired by the record’s original 1995 cover image. The 11 tunes on 'Penthouse,' such as the ethereal "Sideshow by the Seashore" and "23 Minutes in Brussels," are also accompanied by two bonus tracks on the Bandbox edition - an encore of Luna classic "Tracy I Love You" and a cover of Beat Happening's "Indian Summer."

The New York indie pop quartet – now composed of Dean Wareham, Sean Eden, Lee Wall, and Britta Phillips – breathe a fresh, vital new life into these familiar classic tunes from the band’s early days. Wareham and Eden’s soaring and textured guitar work pushes these live renditions ever forward, anchored by Wall’s rhythmic drums and Phillips’ pulsing bass.

Whether you were there and want to relive this amazing show, or you’ve always wished you were lucky enough to witness Luna's magic at The Chapel that night, Bandbox’s exclusive vinyl pressing of ‘Live Penthouse’ will bring this gig to vivid life on your turntable. In addition to our beautiful seafoam swirl vinyl edition of ‘Live Penthouse,’ this Bandbox release will also feature a 16-page Luna zine featuring an artist interview, rare photos, and more.”

Is this the pressing I finally bite on?

I do love Michael Nau but I have no experience with Cotton Jones.
