This looks like Nu Metal

Chris Whitley/Din Of Ecstasy (Smoke Vinyl)

Chris Whitley

Din Of Ecstasy (Smoke Vinyl)

While not Nu Metal, Chris Whitley integrated hip hop beats into his brand of blues rock on his early 2000s album Rocket House. He opened for DMB around that time and I picked up his CD at one of their shows. Not familiar with this album though.

Hell yeah. Finally, a vinyl release of this record.

More noisy and muscular than his debut Living With The Law.

Also has a fine Jesus And Mary Chain cover...

Dope!

Good price for a Backwoodz release too.

I think Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine was where I first encountered them. Still think it’s the best song they ever did. The first half of Hot Fuss and most of Sam’s Town I find enjoyable but Day & Age lost me completely and bar the odd single there’s been nothing I’ve heard since that’s ever felt that interesting.
Agree - a band that peaked after side 1 of the 1st album - downhill ever since

Looking at my cd collection I’ve somehow bought all the killers albums before the last two. I don’t remember owning anything after stardust at all…

Same for Kings of Leon.

There’s two bands you only need the first two albums for. Maybe one day I’ll get Greatest Hits comps to mop up the odd half decent songs after the first two albums for both…
