I love this album. Start to finish. Worth owning in some format, even if it’s not this one.

it was only recently that i learned the 1940-1992 lyric referenced the life of mr vertigo. i'd always interpreted that section as young mikey carson, with his daredevil bike riding, wanted to be called mr vertigo and do stunts and whatnot, and the reality was he never got to realize that dream, and the final 1940-1992 line was just kind of a line on its own that was important to dave. that mr vertigo was a 'real' person mikey idolized in the early '70s whose own lifespan was 1940-1992 makes much more sense and i felt like an idiot when that was pointed out.
