I almost wanna make a playlist of those early 90s hair metal ballads that were popular just before Alternative culture went mainstream

It would have:

Mr. Big - “Be With You”
Extreme - “More Than Words”
Damn Yankees - “High Enough”
Nelson “(Can’t Live Without Your) Love & Affection”

I bet there is more terribleness I could add if I poke around and thought about it a bit more.

I am 100% sure a well-intentioned, but misguided HS girlfriend made those like half of side a of a mixed tape for me.

I'm almost positive these were all on some compilation CD on a commercial in the late 90s and early 2000s...

Maybe they're marginally less one-hit-wondery, but when I see that list, I immediately think Poison - "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."
