The Chris Bellman cut of it is solid. All previous cuts were from the brickwalled version done by Vlado The Impaler I think.

I'm pretty sure mine is a Chris Bellman cut. I bought it last summer. I should have said it's the production that is weird, not necessarily the mixing. I forget exactly what my gripe was but I just remember feeling like something sounded off about it to my ears.

They announced an great looking Blue and Orange exclusive version that perfectly matched the cover but when they shipped it somehow ended up being a "Walmart Exclusive Purple and Gold vinyl". No warning. They even kept the product page up for the blue and orange.

I have heard overwhelming bad things about the sound quality of the Californication vinyl, so it's really a shame they didn't remaster this for the anniversary press.

I returned it. Not because I'm super picky about vinyl color but because the product was changed without notification. I went in my local the next day and they just got a copy of black vinyl in so I bought that.
It looks like there's a lot of reviews for the Walmart pressing on Discogs of people who have skips too.
