Pre-Order Thread

I kind of stalled out in my discography listening and need to get back into it. I even pulled Postcards out last night but then the weird cassette mix of Dead Kennedys made me go another way in my listening. I believe I’ve listened to all the Manis albums now but wanted to give everything some dedicated time and finish the overview book I’ve been reading.

Which book?

I go back to both of Wire’s solo albums more than JDB’s.

It’s not a great book, but it kind of reads like a less academic 33 1/3 approach to the whole catalog.

It was also a kindle unlimited book (part of a series on britpop - includes Oasis and Blur, I figured I might read them all eventually). I’ve also got Tryptych and the 33 1/3, too. I was really enamored with The Holy Bible when we pulled it in the generator/Manics thread.

If you can get hold of any of the books Stuart Price has written about them it’s worth it, he’s probably the definitive voice outside the band themselves, is an old school music journalist and a bit of a Manics superfan.

No details about online sales yet (forthcoming), but Marcy Playground unceremoniously announced that Shapeshifter was finally reissued on vinyl and is only available on tour presently. So keep an eye on their shop if you're interested!

Went to the show last night, they should probably have some left over to sell online after the tour’s wrapped up.

Heads up, the black vinyl (1000 total) is $70, the signed splatter (100)… ahem…$200
