I have a lot of nostalgia for this album. Great Emo record from the 2000's era before it got to the malls

Dashboard Confessional’s Swiss Army Romance came out in 2000 and his MTV Unplugged episode the same year this album was released in 2002. Surely Emo had started to become a mall staple by then, no? Or are you talking about Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge era MCR Emo when Junior High kids started buying girls jeans and studded belts?

Yeah the whitebelt slit my wrists because I'm bored era. This felt like one of those albums that bridged the 90's into the 2000's. Bleed American is the one I say did it best at the time though.

This is confusing to me. I pretty much thought Chvrchs was just her. Kind of like Waxahatchee.

I was on a Mormon mission from 2002-2004, and before I left I was very much into Jimmy Eat World, Get Up Kids, and such. I returned two years later and didn't recognize emo anymore, even though looking back now the direction it went (mall emo) was obvious...
