Yeah, I'm a little surprised the excitement doesn't seem to be shared by a lot of people here. Been waiting for this one.
Still trying to decide which one to buy. Leaning towards VMP for no good reason except that I can always cancel between now and September and get it somewhere else if I want.

Yep, I noticed that it is also 180g, whereas VMP says standard weight (could be another mistake on their part). I don't really care about weight though as I've had bad pressings/warps with both.

I am excited. My guess is the black will be widely distributed too. I really need to pick up Modern Lovers debut also so maybe I will make it a Jonathan Richman twofer.

Awesome plan. Am I right that the current reissue of The Modern Lovers doesn't include the extra tracks like the 80s Rhino? That's a bummer.

Bullmoose just listed the standard I, Jonathan for $19.97.
Not sure why it’s never been reissued with those tracks except for the Rhino. Dignified and Old is one of their best songs imo and I’m Straight and Government Center fit right in too. I lucked out and got that Rhino issue five years ago or so for cheap and it sounds great. It’s the only version I have.
