Pre-Order Thread

So wait, the Inon Zur score is one thing and the GNR selects are another? Does the latter come with the Three Dog commentary in between?
So there’s the deluxe edition, which is the whole soundtrack plus the GNR vinyl. Then the soundtrack and GNR vinyl will be sold individually based on what the email says. Also no commentary included, it’s just the songs I believe.

The songs on the GNR vinyl include Maybe, I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire, Anything Goes, Crazy He Calls Me, Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall, etc.

While going through the Target 3 for 2 sale I found something that I don't see anywhere else. Hoping it is legit. I ordered it.

I don’t see this up anymore, or anywhere else for that matter. Hope it just went up too early — I really want it!

This year just got even more golden:

Bill Callahan - Gold Record

For his first record in….uh, well, just a little over a year (!), Bill Callahan’s given us his first Gold Record. They can’t all be gold, and they’re not all six years apart either — all good! You could probably call the album “Gold Records,” too: all the songs have a stand-alone feel, like singles, meant for you to have a deep encounter with all of a sudden, from the start of the song to the finish. And what do you got when you have a record full of singles — and let’s face it, hit singles, at that?
That’s a Gold Record for you.
From the top, it’s clear this is music with an affection for people, as Bill immediately slips easily and deeply into his characters. Among them: a limo driver, a watcher of television, a suitor, a man in a broken-down car, a reader of books, a Ry Cooder superfan, and in the closing number, a wanderer who “notices when people notice things”. The voices of the people, with their ups and downs, their loss and laughter. You can feel the love.
For Bill, preparing to tour for Shepherd In a Sheepskin Vest meant considering being away from home for long stretches of time — maybe up to a year, who knew? Feeling his oats, Bill pulled out a few sketches from over the years and touched them up. Before he knew it, he was recording them, and in the shuffle, newer songs started popping up.
It happened fast. Basics were recorded live with Matt Kinsey playing guitars, guitars, guitars and Jaime Zurverza holding it down “and then letting it go” on bass. Drums and horns were brought in for a couple songs. Spirits were high! Six out of the ten were done first take; overdubs, when needed, came equally quickly. Listening, one hears their intuitive cohesion coming together richly behind Bill’s titanic voice spread across the stereo spectrum: the gentle conversation of Bill and Matt’s guitars, the subtle percussion of the bass and drums, and odd appearances of trumpet, woodwind and synth, striking notes both decorous and discordant, sounding for all the world like the naturally occurring sound meant to accompany and express lives lived everywhere.
These are in fact songs meant for other people to sing — but until they do, Bill’s got this. He’s got a secret on this one, and before we go, we don’t mind sharing it with you: he’s figured out how to perfectly place his voice in proximity to your ear. It’s based on the distance from your heart to your brain. Simple! Why don’t more people think like this?

Was it just a tape or more formats? Links seems to be dead.

Found this up for early pre-order at Target so I'm sure it's coming in other places soon too.

Only issue this now makes me want the Atlantic Albums box on RSD more, as opposed to being completely ok with the individual reissues.

A vinyl shop I have bought from in the past sent out this info regarding the Acoustic Sounds reissue series. He has them priced at £35 each (he prices Tone Poets at £37 so it's comparable). I'm going to be waiting from them to hopefully drop in price personally. I haven't paid near £30 for a Tone Poet yet so hoping these drop as well.

Those Acoustic Sounds reissues are all amazing picks! I can't wait to get my hands on these! I'm so happy it's only two per month, so the it can be easy for me to track all of these without missing out!

I'm so pumped for that Sarah Vaughan. I've been wanting a good copy of that for awhile and can't find it anywhere except for those crap off label issues.

I gotta say that I have both the current Phillips reissues of those Nina’s and they cost me like €15 each new and sound absolutely stellar. I see no reason to buy these in their place...

Because they’ll sound even better! I have the John Coltrane and Nina Simone releases, but I know it will be such a joy to spin these Acoustic Sounds reissues. Always such a joy when you can notice the improvement when you get a superior reissue/pressing too!

But forgive me if I’m wrong, these aren’t full blow APs like the 45s or the Mono Beach Boys etc etc. They’re a more affordable 33rpm introduction to audiophile pressings aren’t they? I consider the ones I have to be an audiophile quality pressings and so my original call stands.

They will be like the Analogue Productions pressings, but just none of them are 45RPM! Yeah, the Nina Simone pressings that we have are audiophile quality, but they aren’t as good sounding as the Nina Simone Analogue Productions pressing I have! I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Your original call definitely stands! I just have a feeling these reissues will noticeably sound better than the current reissues/pressings we have!

I received this in my emails: FO3 restock tomorrow at 1PM?

Also seems the GNR vinyl and the soundtrack LP will be available separately from each other as well.

EDIT: Also seems as though GNR LP will be colored this time instead of the plain black? “Nuka cola bottle Variant” is leading me to believe its coke bottle clear this time...

OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

can someone please tag me when this goes on sale? I've been waiting for a GNR LP soundtrack forever. I know they've done the "score" but idgaf about that. GNR is where it's at. My favorite game and favorite video game soundtrack of all time.

That Bill Evans exclsuive is unnecessary and the colour variant is ugly. Like it doesn’t suit the album cover at all! ❌

Like I went “ewww” when I saw that Bill Evans variant! Such an incredible record though! I’m a lucky ducky that I’ve got the MoFi SuperVinyl pressing! 😛💎

Yeah somebody mentioned on the buy 2 get 1 free sale last week. I didn't order it. Only thing that scares me about this listing is that the release date is Black Friday. I hope it isn't somehow a RSD release. Hoepfully it is widely available but I have yet to see it listed anywhere else.

I really strongly prefer 33rpms especially because I don't have the fine enough ear to notice enough of a difference in quality anyway.
But for that reason, I doubt I'll double dip on any of these though. I have Getz/Gilberto, A love supreme, and Pastel Blues already and am more than happy with them. Definitely will be picking up a good amount of the other ones though.

I love AP. Awesome Audiophile company and Acoustic sounds is all around one of my favorite stores to buy from.

Yeah, good call. I hope not either. The thing is Target jumps the gun pretty regularly on pre-orders but they always seem to eventually become legit. I actually check out their pre-order section pretty regularly to see what is coming elsewhere.
