No joke, If VMP did this it’d go from #/500 8LP for $120 to #/2000 8LP for $275..... BUT..... BUTTTTT..... they’d give you a code for $25 off and let you listen early to a podcast where Joan Jett talked about Stones Throw hip-hop.$46 for international shipping.

Plus you wouldn't know which records you'd be buying - and at which date you'd receive them.No joke, If VMP did this it’d go from #/500 8LP for $120 to #/2000 8LP for $275..... BUT..... BUTTTTT..... they’d give you a code for $25 off.

kind of. it definitely ruins the songs that had their samples changed for me. "The Red" is my favorite song on the album, particularly for the beat which is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, Dilla beats ever. "No Games" is also one of my favorites on the album, and for that one I have no idea what the issue is because Doom's "One Beer" has never been changed. the replacement beats for these simply do not compare at all to the original that I played to death and is tattooed in my brain, so hearing the changes is really jarring and off putting to me.Two songs had samples changed totaling about 5 minutes of music. It ruins the listen of the other 45+ minutes?
I've been the same with the last couple because they usually end up on sale. The first single for the gleam 3 sounds like they're back in their roots though
The gleam series are unique in that it's just the Avetts and Bob doing acoustic. This isn't necessarily an indication they are going back to the days of Emotionalism.
Yea, I get that for the song. Especially when it's ingrained to be heard one way. And the original is so much more soulful. I was listening to it contemporary to when it came out, so I get it.kind of. it definitely ruins the songs that had their samples changed for me. but yeah, the rest is unchanged and obviously is completely listenable... but I personally wouldn't buy the version with the changed samples.
it's actually Lord Quas who says it.. ha haYea, I get that for the song. Especially when it's ingrained to be heard one way. And the original is so much more soulful. I was listening to it contemporary to when it came out, so I get it.
According to my hacker-level internetin' skills (i.e. Wikipedia):
There's a Jaylib track called ‘The Red’ they got sued for. Cris Williamson is the artist and she’s a total feminist, a real woman-power type. In that song Madlib says "mostly shitty women". She said, 'I’m not having that, take it off the album.' But she’s still letting them use the instrumental for licensing and so on. So even there they’ve worked something out"
Lol. Should've gotten the clearance on a technicality.it's actually Lord Quas who says it.. ha ha
Lol, do QuasImoto and Madlib have different representation?it's actually Lord Quas who says it.. ha ha

Went to go order The Blue Version of the III Gleam at Barnes and Noble online and it is sold out. I don't believe I have ever seen a preorder sell out at Barnes and Noble. Surely there will be some available closer to street date.
Probably those rabid fans who bought all 3 colors.
Was it you? I actually have sold most of my Avett Brothers so I’m not super disappointed. I liked their early stuff and The Gleams but most of the rest I can take or leave.
