I got some of the VSS sleeves with dual pockets that you can make gatefold jackets out of…..big mistake. Now I wanna do that to all my gatefolds............is it just a me thing that my brain says that if I go with anything but the Sleeve City 5 mils, I have to re-jacket my entire collection?

I tried out some VSS stuff on their last sale. I really like their 12" dual pocket outer sleeves with sealable flap for single LPs. The oversized gatefolds (2 flaps) sleeves seem to be too much and I don't trust the flaps without a secondary pocket for the LPs. I used a few of those on some Rhino HF and they fit nicely, but feels weird with the entire jacket always being in a sleeve. Maybe I should try out making them with the outers like MikeH noted. I have a sample pack too - still need to try some of those out.

My obsession does not work like this. I have a wide variety of outers and inners. (All my inners are at least rice paper sleeves - well 99%)............is it just a me thing that my brain says that if I go with anything but the Sleeve City 5 mils, I have to re-jacket my entire collection?
I will also say that SC makes the best standard outers.
I can’t recommend gatefold sleeves enough! I have tried a bunch of these and VSS makes the best.
(I hate the flaps from VSS though, I do have to use them with the modular sleeve to make tri or whatever four panel is called-fold sleeves).

If there is something besides rice paper, it is poly lined and probably because I cleaned it while I was waiting for sleeves when I waited too long to order new sleeves or is one of the ten or fifteen records on the shelves that hasn’t been cleaned in the spin clean.Oh, nothing but rice paper inners grace my collection

It's been a while since I ordered them, but I'm 90% sure this is what I'm using my my triple gatefold sleeves.Does anyone make TRIPLE gatefold outer sleeve?

I will check when I get home and see if the sticker is still on the pouch I pull them out of.
I think they can take triple gatefold jackets but sleeve itself is not a gatefold outer sleeve
As in it won't wrap up the jacket that you can open it without removing it from the sleeve

I believe you can pair together sleeves from vinyl storage solutions to make a triple Gatefold sleeve. There’s probably a video somewhere of how to do it that I can try to find later. I feel like @Nee Lewman may know what I’m talking about

Yep, you need gatefold sleeves with flaps:

This design is meant to protect your tri-fold, quad-fold (or pages) album cover while still giving you easy access to the vinyl record. You use this product in combination with 2 x 4 mil dual pocket outer sleeves.

You use the adhesive on the multifunctional to attach it to the flap of the gatefold and seal the other side - trifold sleeve.
I have done this for quite a few releases.

Edit: theoretically, you could use the multifunctional to make fourfold and fivefold sleeves as well.
