Record Store Day 2022

I am definitely not going to be able to make it out to any stores, what do you guys suggest is my best bet for snagging the 2 RSD releases I really absolutely need in my life?

Usually there is a separate RSD wantlist thread that gets created prior to RSD Saturday where folks will post what they are looking for and other N&G members who are going out will pick them up at their locals if they find them while picking up their own titles. I have helped out a few people and have definitely been helped out in the past too because of this thread. After things die down about from the frenzy people will post links to store with leftover inventory if you were unable to secure a copy through other means.

So while looking over a few of the videos people have been posting it seems that Art Pepper is the hot ticket item. I am going to err on the side of “yeah it’s not gonna be there for me” along with the Sara Bareilles.

Guess I gotta shoot for the Gerard Way or something different. LOL I know the AIC I’m am most likely going to be able to snag, but truth be told I’m nervous this time around. Going to read back the thread it’s see wants to gauge if I’m missing a gem.

I just saw something online about Chris Isaak's "Heart Shaped World" getting an RSD essential release in August.

I've been hoping for all of the Chris Isaak records to get reissued (other than Forever Blue, which was reissues 4-5 years ago). This would be a good start. Is this happening?

BTW we are now on Version 1.10 of this list, so it's probably worth checking periodically to if any of your wants moved to June or disappeared or if any new stuff pops up.

I'm kinda surprised at the Art Pepper hype (In Groove said it was their #1 hottest item in terms of expectations). I get all the plaudits about it in terms of the production names, but if it is 6k to 8k of a jazz title that feels like it shouldn't be a complete blood bath. Kenny was less than half that and was tough but not impossible. Not my genre so I could be way off there, and $30 MSRP for audiophile jazz is real nice so I bet that'll pull in fence riders, but I feel like other things will be tougher.

That Art Pepper is #1 for me as a newbie to Jazz. I’ve listened to it a lot and I really like it. It's tied with the AIC release

I'm not seeing a lot of details on the Beth Orton RSD releases. Assuming they end up being UK-only, anyone have any tips on where and when to look online for delivery to the U.S.? Thanks in advance!

We are up to v17 on the list, so if you are looking forward to something, it's worth checking the list before you go in case it was moved to June, cancelled, etc.

For instance, a few I was looking at (James Blake, Ray Charles) as well as Pearl Jam and Kali Uchis are in June - I don't think some of those were before. Saves me some money til June at least. The Art Pepper fist fight is still set for April.

I will keep my eyes peeled for that Sara for you. I think I am going to finally going to do what I threatened and go to Baton Rouge for RSD and then get lunch with friends.

Some notable ones that moved to June that were on my list:

Pearl Jam-Live on 2 Legs
Collective Soul-Disciplined Breakdown
Nicki Minaj-Beam Me Up Scotty
My Morning Jacket-Live from RCA Studios
Royal Tenenbaums Sountrack

Definitely helps lighten the load. Probably around 5 or so albums I'm still interested in this month.

…I keep scrolling through hoping to find something else I need but overall it’s a bit of a down year for me.
