i usually have pretty good luck with that shop. can always see where they are at end of today with stock. i think they go on sale at 8AM EST tomorrow.

I also caved on my no-more-7” rule and got the Hold Steady 7. Two great songs, but 1) too expensive at $11, honestly, and 2) the pressing sounds like hot boiled dogshit.

Ten years ago that would have been $5.

I've done RSD here in SoCal, Oakland, and now Sacramento and I don't think I've ever seen more than 30 people in line.

People in CA seemingly always got better shit to do, I mean look at the crowds at USC Football games.

I showed up about a half hour after mine opened and there were 27 in line ahead of me. About a dozen got in line behind me, but once they announced they Olivia Rodrigo was sold out 7 left the line ahead of me and all but 1 left the line behind me.

We also have a lot of record stores to choose from. I don't know if that makes a difference. I have about 5-6 in the area that are participating although most of them aren't opening until noon.

No surprised. He’s an Instagram/Tik Tok heartthrob. It’s a RSD first so hopefully they’ll release it again soon, but all of his vinyl is stupid expensive right now. Even Stick Season is impossible to vinyl. Can Walmart or Target not license his catalog already and make it widely available. He’s on a major label for God’s sake.

Came away with Bottle Rockets, Chico, and a lovely little album by Amos Lee covering Lucinda Williams songs, which I didn't know existed until seeing it there. It's quite nice for people looking for a Spring album in Winter.

Yeah thankfully most of the stuff I usually want nobody wants and I can pick it for 50% off a year from now but sadly this isn’t one of them.
