Record Store Day 2024

Likely will be phoning in a friend from N&G to help me get some titles this year. Looks like anything that is really a must have for me is either a UK or Canada exclusive.

In the UK, the band As December Falls is releaseding a couple RSD titles. In Canada, Paramore has an exclusive pressing of their cover of burning down the house.

Interesting. Sort of seems like you said - a solution searching for a problem. Maybe it helps small brick and mortars with no web presence? I wonder if their fee structure makes them more attractive than a Discogs or EBay to unload leftovers.

I have used it a bit to find shops that may have titles I want then gone to their site to try to purchase directly

Been out of the vinyl buying game for a while now, so don't really have any opinions on the list itself, but just gonna throw my two cents in and say that this should have been the album cover for Cracker Island from the start. Leagues better than the one we got imo.

It's on the UK and France lists and will probably get updated on the US list, I imagine as STRUT releases have typically been readily available in then past.

Very nice variety of stuff between the three - I'm quite stoked!

yeah, i think the idea front facing was to get friends/semi famous people to choose the songs ie Chloë Sevigny (friends) and then Radiohead.

Really though, it was a way for them to get out of their DGC contract quicker

For the Katy J for sure... yours is the only list I see it on. The Sun Ra from Strut is on both French and UK lists - although bundling both together for shipping would make sense....

Have you ever heard the 94 east stuff? I have a pretty comprehensive cd boot and have no desire to own this stuff on vinyl. I’d probably skip a NEWS vinyl pressing too if that info helps any Prince fanatics out there.
