Record Store Day 2024

Thanks. The few reviews I have read have generally been positive. And cant complain about the $22 price tag. I purchased it this morning. And agree, this was their best era. Not a single "dud" on that tracklist.
Grabbed this one on top of the others that I'm thrilled about (the Shihab, Tolliver, Jazz Dispensary and Dawg) but I have to say, this really took me back to an era when my wife and I were really into them and enjoyed the shows of the time (Jeremiah Green, RIP). Then they tanked for me and haven't listened much since, since I hated that record with "Float On". So glad I have this now! On the price, I have to admit that this was a determining factor and the prices as a whole were not an increase on April or recent prices from what I can tell. Maybe we are at a plateau? Also, so great to just walk into a store at 7AM when it's 23 degrees and not have to freeze my ass off.

RSD stuff starting to go up with discounts already on ebay/discogs.

Also surprised this one seems easier to find than I thought:

What about that release has led to so much demand? Didn't think he was that well known.
audiophile label, really limited (think it was 1,200?), needed a reissue badly since previous reissues were $80+, and Sahib had a Sam Records release recently that had spiked a lot of peoples' interest in him. most of his titles have been hard to find outside of some reissues that were okay.

Did it include the 3 bonus tracks from the CD version?

It being a Record Store Day First title was the reason I refused to overpay for it.
I'm there with you on this one. But sometimes that approach works out better than others. I'm still waiting for the regular release of the RSD First issue of At the Drive-In's In/Casino/Out that came out in the spring. I have an original--one of the first LPs I bought in the late '90s--but I'm betting that the Craft reissue sounds better.

Agreed. If it’s like your all time favorite album, why risk it? But I have made it 30 years without a physical copy of Better Than Ezra. If I have to wait a bit long (or if it never happens) I am fine with that.

This feels like Spacehog or Fountains Of Wayne. Both were RSD releases and then later both could be easily had for under $20 bucks.

Sure, I could be wrong but with this album I am good with the risk.

$52 for an 2xLP album is too damn high (for me, in this instance).

It's crazy how some titles just go nuts on 3rd party pricing. I had too much in my hands and needed to make some decisions, and the first to go was the U2 release - I dig the tracks, but I told myself: "let's be honest - this pressing is not selling out at all" And even 2 hours into RSD, my local store's stack of U2 lps were untouched :)

This is the only thing I went in for. Not because I thought it would sell out or because it's super limited, but because it's the only part of the How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb box set that I wanted. Kind of expensive but still $260 cheaper than the box set.
