Restocks/Represses

Hokay. I'll need a few.....

So what's the story?

I'll add my anecdote when i dealt with them earlier this year-
last time I ordered from them, I had a small problem with a record. Their customer service form is for show only; they will never reply to you. I tried finding an email, a phone number..no reply anywhere. Eventually I filed a chargeback. the NEXT DAY I got an email from them whining that i had gotten my CC involved. I explained the issue, they asked for me to send the records back, they would review then refund me.

Their website at some point (maybe still does) explicitly states that any records returned to them without a SST issued return number would basically be ignored. I had a friend who said he sent them a package of damaged records and they just ghosted him. I asked over and over again for a return ID from SST and they would never give me one, just kept asking me to mail them back on my own dime.

I finally just said fuck them, documented everything, screen shotted their policy for keeping returns without return IDs and my emails asking for one, sent all of that to my CC company for a chargeback

Own it. Love it. Highly recommend it.

Impex did an amazing job with this one. Also has one of my personal favorite Miles' track... "Mood"

At this point “fuck Greg Ginn and SST” is a pretty solid stance for anyone to take. Dude is a trash human.

Yup, he has fucked over lots of people over the years, including his own brother
Damn. I just wanted some Minutemen records...now I feel dirty.

I don't blame you because they are great records. SST has a great catalog and in other hands, much could be done with it. SST is often accused of not paying royalties properly to acts on the label. Many great releases have been allowed to go out of print as well, such as The Stains. The book I cited goes into far greater detail about all of this if so inclined.

The battle for the Black Flag/Flag name is a story all unto itself.

Your best bet is to find the records you want on Discogs or a shop because the SST mailorder is a ghost store, for the most part, for new vinyl. Shops will put orders in and may not get SST stuff from their distributors or sometimes, they get lucky. It's why the secondary market prices are what they are.

Any idea what they are saying with All-Tube?

Man, that sucks. I'll be reading that story you posted...thanks.

i believe it means they used a tube-based system to master it/cut it instead of a solid state system. KG has a tube system now that he started using (that's what he cut the War Greatest Hits album on).
Yeah just wondering any more specifics from Bellman's equipment.
Sounds like a nice bonus for this release.

BTW the War GH is just silly flipper pricing now on cogs LoL

discogs isn't the only place to buy it but yea--prices there have gone pretty crazy for something that just sat on shelves for a long time. it was still available at list price as of a few weeks ago at some places. i got mine from JPC for a good price.
