This is the guy who mixed the final version of Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, formed Loose Fur with Jeff and Glenn, and produced A Ghost is Born. I think in Jeff's memoir he talks about driving around Chicago listening to this non-stop while they were recording YHF.

He also joined Sonic Youth for their late career revival. He now lives in Japan and mostly releases noisy Avant-garde albums but his Drag City solo stuff, for the most part is more “poppy”

Yeah, the wonderful thing to me is he makes stuff like The Visitor which is excellent in its own right but then also makes stuff like this which is brilliant but completely on the other side of instrumental music…
