Ya know, I had a chance to buy the original press for I think around $40 when he originally did that 24 hour sale thing but I convinced myself that I would just be buying it for FOMO purposes since the album doesn’t do much for me. Then it went out of print and people were selling their copies for like $800 and while I regret not buying one for investment purposes overall I was fine with it because would never listen to it anyways. I saw the repress and had a chance to purchase that one as well now for $65 and even knowing what I now know, I am still completely fine with not buying it. Buying records for investment purposes just isn’t nearly as fun as buying the for listening purposes.

I enjoyed Nostalgia Ultra and Channel Orange alright but Blonde just never did much for me for whatever reasons but yeah I know a ton of people love this album and I am glad they are getting the opportunity to own it for a (relatively) reasonable price.

I hear you, but even then, it's easy to trade for anything you want, if nothing else.

I bought a single copy when that first drop happened. During this last Thanksgiving, I had someone trying to buy my copy off me for $400 all night, once they found out I had it. I tried to text them today, but I'm not sure they were able to grab this. My feeling is that they missed out. That's why I'm really excited, because I grabbed it for them. In my opinion, buying records for shit like that is more fun than either for investment or for listening.

He's the husband of one of my younger sister's oldest friends. They live near Boise. I first met him when they came out for my niece's birthday and we hung out and talked about music the whole time. Same thing happened on Thanksgiving. When he found out I collected vinyl he asked if I had a copy and thought I was messing with him at first. He's one of those people that has a whole story about what the album means to him personally based on a certain time in his life, etc.

All night he would shoehorn it back into the conversation. "Think about how many records you can buy for $400." And I'd respond with something like, "I don't know. You have $400 and can't even buy one record."

He's definitely gonna flip his shit, though. We're probably gonna take them up on their offer to come out and stay with them for Treefort Fest.
