Restocks/Represses

Coincidentally, I stumbled across this picture which I, apparently, posted on IG exactly 7 years ago, yesterday. Now I'm nostalgic.

Anyway... for @nolalady or @TenderLovingKiller® or anyone else interested in hearing more of his stuff, I definitely recommend this one. Off White under his James White & The Blacks Moniker. That "Contort Yourself" was supposed to be his interpretation of disco, believe it or not.

Along with the No New York comp @dhodo posted, Buy is another big one for James Chance

I even listened to that Flesh Is Weak album a lot when it came out a few years ago. It's new, but I think it actually had a number of tracks that just wound up in various places outside the US over the last 2 or 3 decades and they sold it more like it was all brand new material. I enjoyed it, though.

Yeah - I made the mistake of preordering from Acoustic Sounds. Wasn't an in stock item so got stuck with FedEx shipping charge. And the bastards still haven't shipped it even though I've seen at least 5 places I can pick it up immediately.

I'm done with them.
Well I just paid 10 dollars to ship it to my house from my local downtown because until I get a booster I don't want to go into any stores... So yeah...

That's a very valid reason to pay.

I've been double vaxed, have been extremely cautious and careful and still got nailed. I woke up about three weeks ago and had no sense of smell or taste. That was my only symptom and the only clue I had it. I fully believe getting vaccinated was the reason I had no other symptoms. At the same time, let me tell you that losing your taste and smell is an incredible drag. Neither has returned yet. Unless something changes quickly and dramatically, you could feed me a slipmat for Christmas dinner and I'd not know the difference.

Aw crap I'm sorry man that sucks.. I'm glad it wasn't more serious but yeah here's hoping you get those back in time for Christmas dinner.

I consider it a miracle I went this long before getting nailed based on constant exposure to the public at my job and living in an area with a good amount of backward-ass cro-mags. I know folks younger than I who ended up in the hospital or the ground.

I lost my sense of smell for almost a month, but olfactory training might be responsible for speeding up some of that recovery:

“Olfactory training typically involves deeply sniffing at least four different odors for 10 seconds twice daily for at least 12 weeks. The odorants used are distinct and strong and typically include flowery (eg, rose), fruity (eg, lemon), aromatic (eg, clove), and resinous (eg, eucalyptus). Other odorants such as cinnamon, vanilla, orange, and banana have been used. Patients may perform olfactory training at home on their own; preassembled “smell training kits” may be purchased, or vials of essential oils can be used for this purpose.”

Man, sorry to hear about that but glad you fended off the worst of it.

Strangely I have never been able to smell, it's just something I've been missing since birth. I believe it's called Anosmia but that's just self-diagnosed, I have never been to the doctors with it. The idea of losing taste is the super scary to me (on top of the serious illness as well), I cant imagine that being fun at all, there's so much great tasting food and drink out there!

Yeah, it’s congenital anosmia, but that’s really just describing the symptom. The potential etiologies vary:
