Day 5 - “Making Flippy Floppy”
Check it out. Still don't make no sense. Makin' flippy floppy.
Do you have some flexi discs? Take them out and play them. If not, play some other unusual record format from your collection. A 10”? An oddly shaped record? A record that references old computer floppy discs? A record with other unusual features? The theme is flexible. Literally.

This was something I don’t think I ever planned on spinning but it’s the only flexi I own so here we are. It’s a rather dry interview with the British press where Mick sounds very disinterested. The label on the flexi and the cover are much more interesting than the actual interview.

anyways, here’s “Sympathy For The Devil”…

Day 3 - “Burning Down The House”
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet.
Play an album that is “hot” at your house right now - an album that you’ve had on steady rotation lately.

Before Sometimes I Might Be Introvert dominated my aural soundscape, Phish’s latest album Sigma Oasis found it’s way onto my turntable nearly every day for almost two weeks.

I clearly remember listening to the reveal stream last April 1st, definitely thought they were playing an April Fools’ joke, and just gushing and thriving in the positivity and creativity emitting from the album.

Yearning for more positivity recently, I found myself gravitating back to them and now find myself the owner of seven Phish records, eight if Lawn Boy ever goes through with Acoustic Sounds.

I guess I just finally “surrendered to the flow.”
“Everything’s right, so just hold tight.”

I’m not afraid to proclaim my love for this album—it’s fucking great!

Made you spin something you never thought you would... awesome!

Yeah, there is still a 12” 45rpm single of “Sympathy For The Devil” w/ the albums bathroom cover art etched on to side B that will likely never land on my turntable platter unless you or someone else offers up a very specific challenge.

It’s a pretty good version of the single and it’s the mono mix. I quite liked it the one time I spun it the day after cleaning the discs. Never spun the flexi though 😂

Day 5 - Making Flippy-Floppy

I'm sure there are actual flexi-discs knocking around but they're likely things we got when my aunt was helping with Vacation Bible School {I think they were just there and we were interested, they were not new at the time of VBS} and I'd feel weird playing them and they may all be unplayably scrunched up anyways, not like I exactly expected to play them.

I also considered sarcastically playing a dynaflex LP, but nah.

So I went with one of my more well-known Record Store Day finds, an acoustic version of “I Love You, Honeybear” by

Father John Misty - “I Loved You, Honeybee”

I have several flexi discs thanks to Joyful Noise VIP editions. Unfortunately they don't play very well on my system.

A sampling...

Tried to spin this one but it skipped a lot. Interesting artwork, though.
