Day 4: “I do not sing but I make a def song, you could live your whole life and I hope you live long. On the Gong Show we won't get gonged, we're the Beastie Boys not Cheech and Chong”
Joni Mitchell – Court And Spark
Features Cheech & Chong providing background vocals on album closer (and certified banger) "Twisted."
Day 5: “Now I rock a house party at the drop of a hat…”
Fred Wesley & The Horny Horns featuring Maceo Parker – A Blow For Me, A Toot To You
George Clinton had a cameo in the movie House Party and had heavy hands throughout this P-Funk outing that oughtta rock any party attended by anybody with a pulse!
Day 6: “Like Sam the butcher bringing Alice the meat, Like Fred Flintstone driving around with bald feet”
Going with the band that made a career out of copying the Flintstones Bug Music episode. At least I think I have the order right.... I don't have any early Beatles albums though, so going with one that at least still has the shaggy hair.
Day 5: “Now I rock a house party at the drop of a hat…”
My house party days are behind me, but I do go to parties in houses these days. The booze and the food is way better. And this might be the kind of album I'd rock at the next party.
Day 6: “Like Sam the butcher bringing Alice the meat, Like Fred Flinstone driving around with bald feet”
Okay so I had this whole thing where I connected the actress that played Alice to a Love Boat appearance and then connecting on of the guys that did a couple musical pieces for the love boat with being associated with the 1984 Dune movie—which I have this soundtrack in record format because yes. However, I desperately need to reorganize my records and though I ran across it last freaking weekend, I can’t find it now.
Thus, I am giving you the Very Worst of Jefferson Airplane with the song “Ask Alice”. So there.
Day 7: “Washing windows on the Bowery at a quarter to four, ‘Cause he ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s farm now more.”
Rolling Blackouts C.F. "Endless Rooms" (2022 Sub Pop)
This house has a lot of windows that need to be washed. Album also includes the track "Open Up Your Window".
Day 7: “Washing windows on the Bowery at a quarter to four, ‘Cause he ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s farm now more.”
I was going to go a different direction today, but @Turbo 's post made me realize I could use my collection playthrough one from the Now Spinning thread here too. Johnny Ryall would not be happy with the amount of windows we are gonna make him wash today. But at least he's not working on Maggie's farm no more...
