STAR WARS! STAR WARS! STAR WARS

I think JJ Abrams deserves some praise for making a Star Wars movie all fans can agree on.

That's quite a feat.

Also if people here are clamoring for good, original Star Wars content, well The High Republic has never been better. Shits starting to hit the fan. Both the books and comics are incredible, and easily the best SW content out right now. Just a group of 6 brilliant diverse writers, writing the hell out of SW in an era that's completely open for storytelling. I can't say enough good things about it.

Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule is the initial book that lays the groundwork for the era with all the characters and such. It reminded me of reading the Song of Ice and Fire books for the first time with the sheer amount of characters introduced. Personally I just had to google characters a lot to get an idea of what to visualize them as. Lots of names, but its worth it.

After that you have a couple diffrent ways you can go. The adult novels tell the core story of the era, with the Marvel comic filling in important gaps. Then you can read as much as you desire. The YA novels, middle grade books, and the IDW young readers comic all have characters and plot points that move from book to book. Personally that's whats made me read them all. Here's a handy guide for choosing what to read after Light of the Jedi.

Light of the Jedi pre ordered at my library

You guys, that modspeeder bike chase scene... Nooooooo, no no no. Did some SFX intern compile that? That was the slowest, cheapest looking thing I could have possibly imagined. That looked like something you'd see on Nickelodeon. sigh

Is this from Tales of the Bounty Hunters? Not to be all “back in my day,” but while sometimes being a nerd in the 90s sucked, there was something special about finding the other kid in the room who knew or cared that Boba Fett’s helmet had a pocket straw.
Yes it is! Saw it posted on reddit and it brought back memories. Loved that one and "Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina", heard the others don't hold up as well.

I did not expect to see Thundercat, that's for sure. Wonder if he wrote the song that was playing in his scene.

I'm hoping all this lead up will pay off. They're obviously hinting at a Mando cameo, since they dropped his theme two times this episode.

The writing has just been kinda bad. The whole Black Krrsantan scene didn't really make sense, they could have easily set that up better. Him going into the sarlac pit to find his armour, which he used to get OUT of the Sarlac pit didn't make any sense... The copious amount of cyborg "mods" riding their immaculate chrome Vespas... It's all just silly.

Last night's Boba has me listening to Drunk this morning.

I think the issue with the series I'm having is the flashbacks are more interesting than the present day storyline. They really have to get this thing off-world which I don't think is in the cards. I feel this show might be too Disneyfied for its own good. It needs to be a lot more adult. Maybe that will be next when he goes to war as we all know the Pykes were behind the Sandpeople being slaughtered. They seem to oddly be remaking Boba from that final scene in Mando season 2 where he coldly shoots Bib Fortuna. Doesn't feel like Book of BF Boba would do that now.

So Mrs. ImTheOcean and I were having a conversation after watching the last episode of Boba Fett, inspired by the kitchen scene.

Does the presence of a Chef droid and a Sous Chef droid imply that they are built for specific tasks, and there is no room for advancement for droids? Like is the Sous Chef droid always stuck as a subordinate to the Chef Droid?

Also who decides what the Gamorrean guards wear? In the flashback sequence when Bib Fortuna held the palace, we see them wearing vests. The ones that work for Boba are topless. Is it like a summer / fall fashion thing on Tatooine? Or did someone make that decision for them?
