I don't know if you guys knew this, but it's actually 2010 and I just finished LOST for the first time. What a ride!

I always heard that people despised the ending of this show-- but I felt very satisfied with it. I've read that there were some misconceptions about the ending, so I guess I can understand, but I went into this binge-watch assuming I was going to hate the ending. But I didn't!

Overall, I am so glad I finally watched this. It definitely has its issues, but nothing big enough to give me negative feelings towards the show.
Glad you liked it! My pop culture hot take has always been that the ending is exactly in line with everything that came before it, better or worse.

I tried to start a rewatch last month and couldn’t do it; so much dramatic tension in that first season relies on reveals, not even so much in terms of island mysteries but the secrets the survivors are keeping from one another. Maybe I’ll try to whittle at it again.

I'd watched the first couple seasons twice a while ago, but finally binged the whole thing about 2 years ago for the first time and also enjoyed it. The show I've been posting about, From, is on episode six and the first four were directed by the lead director of Lost. So far is like supernatural/SciFi Lost in the woods.

I rewatched Lost a couple of years back. I still really enjoy it but I do find that after the first season it slowly dies with each season after it. There's obviously the odd jump every now and again but the first season did such a good job at building the mystery that as each element is revealed it just feels anti-climatic.

Still, it's definitely something I will end up watching again in the future for sure.

I am curious about that, I mean the thing that draws you in so easily is the mystery around all the crazy shit that's going on. Part of me wonders if a second watch through would be interesting because I would see a lot of the answers foreshadowed that I would have never noticed otherwise, or just subtle details here and there, or if like you said it would just be anticlimactic because I already understand what's going on.

I'll definitely watch it again in the future, so I guess we'll see!

I first watched it 8-9 years ago so it was a considerable gap. I did remember the majority of the plot lines but a lot of it I had forgotten. My main gripe was that there were so many cool avenues set up which were then resolved in pretty boring ways.

Maybe im being too cynical.

Which all serves as a perfect excuse to watch early 1990s Ben Stiller play Bono singing a Lucky Charms commercial set to "One"-

We watched all of The Only Murders In The Building in like three days. It was such a good, fun show. And I'm super interested in a second season. I just hope it can build a new mystery. But yeah, pretty much right away I was charmed by the whole cast. And I'm sad I finished it so fast.

All right I finished Halt and Catch Fire last night, and I’ll say it really snuck up on me. You might recall I’d expressed underwhelmment (absolutely a word) at the first couple seasons; I’d heard it gets better but didn’t find the improvement to be so drastic. But I think that gradual, subtle improvement actually helped the whole thing hang together really well in the end. Unlike a lot of shows where you say “you could skip the first season, and there are some lulls,” it all in the end feels of a piece.

Yeah, it’s a masterclass in on-the-fly retooling. The show runners recognizing that’s the women are the true stars while not completely writing off the men was quite impressive. I would be interested to see how much their overall story evolved from what they initially pitched to where it ended up.

So these three startup culture / crazy tech founder shows definitely share some obvious dna, but they aren’t all great.

I have still found The Dropout to be the best as it hits its tones perfectly.

Super Pumped is just kind of irritating and not as fun of a story to me just yet.

And then there’s We Crashed, which seems to have gotten the most negative / middling reviews but one episode down and I think it’s pretty good. It’s not as fun and exciting right off the bat the way The Dropout felt to me, but it’s definitely already an interesting story. I didn’t know much about this whole thing, so it’ll be a fresh watch. But I think both Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway are actually nailing these performances of insufferable weirdos.
