Tonight's Succession, holy fuck.

This show is really going down as an all-timer.
Husband wanted to watch The Master's follow up. I went upstairs to watch this ep live. Thank goodness I did that! He came upstairs after it was over and told me that he'd switched from golf to watch it as well. OMG. This was definitely not the episode you wanted to miss live. I went on twitter immediately after and there were spoilers galore.

Will never not watch the rest of the season live, but if I have to, I'll stay off the internet.

Me and my wife were so confused the whole episode to what was actually going on. The way it was filmed the viewer really shared in the emotion/confusion with the kids.
The scene with Shiv finally getting on the phone...
My dad died on Holy Wednesday, we had his wake on Maundy Thursday and his funeral was on Good Friday. That this aired on Easter (which, even though it's on a different date every year) it's still a holiday I hate, hit me like a ton of bricks to the chest. The kids' reactions - my god, I've been there... I cried for a horrible guy because it was SO REAL

There are worse things being shared than spoilers. I haven’t seen it break fully yet but it looks like there are pretty serious allegations surfacing about Nicholas Braun (Cousin Greg). I believe it’s on the Succession subreddit, if one is inclined to know more.
OMG, I just looked at that thread. My daughter lives in Manhattan, she was just telling us about his bar and how she's been there, but has never seen him there.

I'm enjoying Beef, but also find it moderately depressing. Much more so than I find it funny. Every one of these characters are probing such levels of despair it feels overwhelming, and it really only snowballs from there. Need to watch something happy after this.

I finished my re-watch of Mad Men a few days ago. Still love this show to death.

But now I am stuck as to what to binge next. I so enjoyed the journey of The Sopranos and then Mad Men, so anything I can think of to follow up just feels like it won't satisfy the same way. I started Halt And Catch Fire and the pilot was just okay. I know it gets better as it goes, but I'm a little meh on going back and waiting for it to get good. I still have never watched The Wire, though I've tried about three different times. It just didn't hook me a few episodes in. But maybe I should try yet again...idk.

Have you ever watched Six Feet Under? I love that show as much as I love Mad Men.

A Deadwood re-watch is always a good time.

I'll second this...I loved it the whole way through, and the series finale is one of the best ever.

Have you ever seen Chuck? It’s very campy, sometimes silly but the music is top, top, top notch. Plus there’s lots of funny and sweet moments.
re: Six Feet Under: I have rewatched that final montage many times just because it's seriously one of the greatest series endings ever. The song accompaniment is perfect, but then again, the music throughout the entire series was stellar.
I haven’t seen SFU in years but one episode, the season of which I can’t remember, had “Come and Find Me” by Josh Ritter to close it out. It was such a perfect ending to that episode. I vividly remember watching that scene, and while I had never heard that song before, I instantly loved it.

This is going to be weird, but I have seen all of Six Feet Under except the last season. For some reason I never saw it. But I have seen that final montage. I watched it years and years ago. Might be fun to go back. I wonder how it holds up.

I have never seen a second of Deadwood before. Looking it up, it’s not too many seasons so I could probably get through it pretty fast. I know nothing about it other than the time period it takes place in.

Ah I have actually seen Chuck. I watched it as it aired. But I’m not sure I ever saw how it ended. I don’t remember too much about it. I definitely remember hearing Slow Show in an episode and being intrigued by it, but I’d didn’t get around to listen to The National till a while after. That show did have killer music choices. Where can you stream it?

As someone who adored the first season, and considers it maybe one of my favorite season of tv ever, season 3 of Ted Lasso is not it. It's a mess, and no clue how they can end it satisfactorily in 7 more episodes.
With Ted and Rebecca getting together, according to the weirdest shippers I’ve seen online (seriously it seems like a popular outcome; am I the only one who sees zero hints towards it?)

Overall yeah, the show has evolved away from what I find most charming and enjoyable about it. It used to be well balanced between comedy and drama and has gotten too self serious about the stakes of the drama.

Looks like it’s on HBO Max and/or Amazon Prime
