I'm sorry but so far this Willie Nelson album just sounds like variations on the same song over and over to me. Nothing against Willie, it's pleasant enough background music, but it's just way too slow and humdrum for my tastes. Not even the Unchained Melody cover is doing much for me and I love that song.

Yeah, I understand why Stardust is on this list, it’s beautiful and outside his comfort zone but it’s one of my least favorite “Prime Willie” albums, which is to say I still think it’s a great record; it’s just not one I reach too often when I wanna listen to a Willie record. I would imagine there is probably one or two more Willie albums on this list, hopefully you’ll have better luck with those.

i feel like you could put any heyday ac/dc album on and the review would generally be the same, you know what you're getting here. i pretty much feel like the only truly essential ac/dc album is one of their hits collections- it's not like they have that many hidden gems in their records that truly stand out among the rest of their popular catalog. still, this is the bon scott era's best and most consistent record and surely some of that is the influence of mutt lange- looking at his producing record this is the earliest album with the highest profile and the sound that would define his 80s peak is all here, most notably on love hungry man which seems like it set the table for his work with def leppard. lastly, i've always liked if you want blood (you've got it), and that song is this album's highlight.

Yeah, I'm with TLK on this one. I can understand academically why Stardust is so beloved and renowned, and I certainly enjoy it well enough myself, but I'll reach for about 75% of the rest of his catalogue before I reach for this one. An unfortunate introduction for your tastes, but I also hope one of the others maybe suits you better. And if none of them do, that's fine too!

I don't know. I don't see @gaporter digging Shotgun Willie.

I never really reach for Stardust either, but it is gorgeous. I especially dig the guitar work on it. I think Willie is underrated in that realm.

Fuck yeah, Day 12!

In this case, FIVE is clearly the magic number.

More thoughts later - likely tomorrow - but the rating is a no-brainer for me.

I don't really have anything insightful to say that hasn't been said. It's an all-timer. Start to finish amazing. One of the best hip hop albums AND one of the best debut albums ever. 5 stars, 0 hesitations.

Redheaded Stranger…maybe? Almost a Folk-Country albums striped down to the bare-essentials. Though it sounds like Gap isn’t too keen on a lot of Folk music based on being pleasantly surprised by Simon & Garfunkel. So maybe Willie won’t their bag and that’s alright too.

Day 13 means unlucky for some, but what does it mean for me?

Time to give this one another shot. Currently my least favourite OutKast album, but features one of my favourite OutKast songs - go figure!

But I'll be doing this tomorrow, tonight it's jazz streams and a book until my eyes close.

This is my 2nd favorite Oukast album, just behind Aquemini. Completely agree about “B.O.B.”, it’s one of the all time great Hip Hop track.
